I saw my brother’s name and groaned even louder. It was never good when Tommy called.

“Tommy. What do you want?” I said as I squinted at the time.

“Good morning to you too, brother. I was just calling to see how you are doing.” He said and I sat up, rubbing the back of my neck. I drank far too much with the boys last night.

“Sure you are. What trouble are you in now?” I asked and he sighed.

“I don’t know. But some shit went down and a few of the boys got arrested.” He said as I stumbled out to the kitchen.

“Are you in prison Tommy?” I sighed as I turned the tap on for some water.

“Ahh yeah. Can you bail me out? It was just a little bar fight.” He added and I thunked my head on the fridge.

“I’ll be down there soon,” I said and hung up, not wanting to hear his voice anymore. I loved my brother but damn he was a pain in my ass.

“Boys. Get up. I have to deal with some shit.” They all mumbled on the couches as I opened the curtains, glancing out at my bike.

I froze, looking again and saw the front tire was flat.

“What the fuck?” I said as I hurried outside. When I saw the visible slash, rage fueled me.

The other bikes were fine, which told me that this was personal and there was only one person I knew that would be this bold.

The bombshell next door.

I glanced over at her house and my fingers itched with the need to hit something.

I stormed over to her house, banging on the door. No one answered and I swore under my breath.

I looked around her garden and grinned as an idea came to me.

That little bombshell thought I wouldn’t retaliate but I had gone up against worse than her in my time.

The guys were slowly making their way outside and looking at my bike.

“Sheeeiiiittt. That little bitch got you good, Hamish.” Brandon said and I rolled my eyes.

“Yes, well she has no idea who she is dealing with.” I said and grinned.

“What are you thinking?” He asked and I pointed at her rose bushes.

“I think we should do a little gardening before I go.” The boys laughed as I went back inside to get changed. Tommy could wait a few hours.

He would understand the reason. He cared about his bike more than anything in the world.

My little sexy neighbor doesn’t know what she has started with me, and I was about to show her what happens when you mess with Hamish Proffitt.

I walked into Hellier Beach station and sighed when I saw the officer in charge. The man had a personal vendetta against Tommy.

“Hamish. When are you going to stop bailing out your useless brother?” He snapped and I glared at Paul Minosa.

“Officer Minosa. Why am I not surprised to see you here? I take it you have the paperwork ready?” I asked, ignoring his question.

“Here. Just need payment and the signature.” He said as he slapped the papers down on the desk.

I signed it and gave my credit card to the woman waiting with the EFTPOS machine as I waited for them to bring me my brother.

“You know, for a lawyer, you really do pick the wrong side to defend.” Minosa said as he leaned against the desk, his gut hanging out from beneath his shirt.
