Page 29 of London Has Fallen
“London, get your shit, you’re coming with us,” Dad demands.
“I get to leave here?”
“She isn’t going anywhere,” Artemis and I both answer at the same time. I spin to face the fucker who thinks he can speak for me, ignoring everyone as I focus on him.
“Ah, excuse me?” He lazily lulls his head to the side to stare down his fucking nose at me.
“You aren’t leaving,” he says as if he can control what the fuck I do.
“You don’t get to tell me what the fuck I can and can’t do, asshole,” I snap.
He turns to face me fully, his eyes burn with rage and I rise to the challenge. “Leave and you will regret it.” I ignore the threats of my family as I speak directly to this bastard.
“Try and stop me and you will see the wrath every motherfucker here fears.” I keep my focus on him as I ask my dad, “Am I leaving for good?”
“No,” he clips out. I keep my annoyance from showing that I’m stuck here from showing.
“See you tonight pretty boy.” I shoot him a wink before I turn toward my dad and grip the bars of the gate ready to climb the fucker, but an arm bands around my waist and I’m hurled back. I throw my head back and relish in the hiss that comes from the ballsy bastard knowing I hurt him. I draw my arm back ready to elbow him right in his stitches but freeze at the sound of three guns cocking.
“I got a clear shot,” Aunt Sin says.
“I got the other in my scope,” Uncle Chaos adds as Cronos comes to stand beside his brother.
“You willing to start a war you can’t win, boy?” Dad says in a tone filled with unfiltered hatred.
“You willing to watch your entire family die if you pull that trigger?” Artemis counters. Now that was too fucking far, I elbow the bastard and yank out of his hold before landing a hit to his stomach and take pleasure in the sight of him doubling over before making a break for it. I scale the gate in seconds and land next to my aunt.
“London!” he roars. I ignore him as I head to the car knowing my dad and the others will follow. “See you soon, Omorfia.” I shoot him the middle finger over my shoulder as I climb in the back. I peer between the seats, unable to hear whatever my dad is saying to the twins but I know whatever it is, it’s not good judging by the look on Cronos’s face.
Artemis
She is going to fucking regret this!
“You think you have a hold over her?” Royal taunts. I push to my feet and remain silent. The fucker smiles but it’s a cunning type of smile. “You think you can use her to get to me and my father, think again. My daughter will chew you the fuck up and spit you out before you even know what the fuck happened.”
“Hmm, your daughter is pretty good at swallowing, not spitting.” The sharp intake of breath from my side is all I need to know that Cronos is fucking fuming I let that slip. I ignore the promises of Royal and his cousins threatening my life as I turn and stalk toward the garage with my brother hot on my heels. I’m so full of shit and didn’t mean what I said but I couldn’t just stand there and take his bullshit. I can feel the rage wafting off Cronos but he says nothing, there are too many students around and he won’t allow anyone to see us fight, we must always show a united front out in the public eye or risk the wrath of Costa. The moment we enter the garage I head for my new car, needing to get the fuck out of here but he grips my arm and spins me around. I expected that but what I didn’t expect was for him to throw a punch that sends me stumbling back into my car.
“You son of a bitch!” He shouts.
I wipe the blood from the corner of my mouth and push off the car. “Don’t call our mother a bitch.”
“You think this is a fucking joke? They could end us.”
Now, my anger bursts through me at his double standards. “You tried to end us by giving her the fucking books!” I scream in his face. He doesn’t seem surprised and that is all I needed to prove that my suspicion was right. “If she recites the history at the cove, she could win. You want our brothers to fucking die?”
“Fuck you! You don’t give a shit about us, you just want his fucking spot.”
“You have no fucking idea?—”
“Then tell me!”
Before I can stop myself, the truth burst from my lips. “He plans to kill the four of you before the end of the trials!”
Cronos’s eyes widen and guilt churns inside me. “He never wanted us to win the trials, did he?”
I shake my head. “If you win, he loses his spot.”
“Why didn’t you complete the trials?”
