She clutches my shirt in her hands and hauls me against her. “I know and that is the exact reason I wanted it to be you.” I search her gaze for any sign of deceit but don’t see any.
“You don’t hate me?” She smiles and shakes her head.
“No. I don’t blame you for anything that happened, pretty boy. I’m grateful you saved me from what could have happened.” Hearing those words come from her mouth is like a weight being lifted off my chest. For the past three weeks I have spent every waking moment praying that she wouldn’t hate me, but another part of me thought it was just wishful thinking. “Now this is the part where you kiss me and we find a dark corner where you can rail me without my dad finding us and killing you.”
She doesn’t need to tell me twice, I lean down and seal my lips to hers. She opens for me without hesitation. The moment the taste of her invades my senses I groan, gripping her waist I pull her in so she can feel how much I want her. She moans into my mouth when she feels my hard cock pressed against her.
“You want to fucking die?” We jerk apart at the sound of Royal’s angry voice. He stomps up the stairs toward us and doesn’t stop until he pushes London out of the way and gets right in my face. “You don’t touch her.”
“Fine, but I’m going to touch him.”
Jesus Christ! She really does want her father to fucking kill me! Royal doesn’t look at her as he answers.
“You touch him, I kill him. He touches you, I torture him. My house, my fucking rules.”
“Fine. I’m telling Mom I’m moving out and you can explain to her why.” Royal’s eyes widen a fraction before he schools his features, not wanting to fuck things up with him further I cut in.
“Okay,” I say.
“What the hell do you mean, okay?” London shouts. Royal smiles and takes a step back as I spy the rest of the family coming to join us, yippee.
“He clearly wants to live.” London turns a bright shade of red.
“So just to clarify, he can’t touch me and I can’t touch him while under your roof?” He smiles wide and nods like he won the fucking lottery, dumbass should know better than that. “Perfect.” She swings her gaze to me and bats her lashes. “Choose a car.”
I frown in confusion. “Why?” I ask hesitantly.
“Because I can touch you all I want in the back seat of a car without him killing you.”
“The fuck you can!” Royal shouts so fucking loud I jerk. “You fucking lay a single finger on her, you little cunt, and I’ll slit your fucking throat, feel me?” Being the smart man that I am, I keep my mouth shut, raise my hands and take a few steps backward. London rounds on her father and the two of them begin to bicker and fight. The triplets come to stand by me as we watch the scene in front of us. I tune them out and focus on my brothers.
“You guys good?” I ask.
“Yeah, thanks to you we live.” Adonis tries to sound nonchalant but I hear the undertone of sadness in his voice.
Placing a hand on his shoulder I say, “No, you live because you fought and did everything I taught you to do.”
“How is that going to work out for you?” Ares says, flicking his gaze toward London and Royal.
I deflate. “Very painfully.” The three of them snicker at my expense.
London
Dad and I are officially at a Stalemate.
I’m fucking fuming at the audacity of him. He thinks he can lay down the law and I will just abide by what he says—wrong! I plan to push every one of his fucking buttons until he learns he cannot forbid me from seeing Artemis. Thinking he was dead destroyed something inside me. For the past three weeks I haven’t felt like myself but now seeing him again, the part that I thought died is slowly breathing life back into me.
“Snooping?” I jerk around and glare at Cronos.
“No.”
He rests his shoulder against the wall and pins me with a dry stare. “Why are you standing outside your father’s closed office door then?”
I growl and stomp my foot. “Because he fucking locked me out and won’t let me in there!” I am fucking livid right now. Aunt Sin, Uncle Kacey, Aunt Meelz, Uncle Chaos, Grandpa, and Artemis are in there with him but I’m locked out here. Aunt Cass and Grandma went back to their place with Mom so Aunt Cass could show them the renovations she did to the twins’ rooms.
“You mad because you were not included in the plans or because you're worried your dad is scaring Artemis off?”
I huff. “Never mind,” I grit out as I stomp past him and head for the kitchen. The sight of my phone on the counter sparks an idea. I grab it and quickly dial Marco’s number, I can feel Nos behind me watching my every move.
