Page 76 of London Has Fallen

“I’m not a sniper,” I protest.

“I know, there is no vantage point because it’s literally in a cave below us.”

“Say what?”

“Yeah, that’s why we haven’t been able to locate the fuckers. You stay with me and my dad, Uncle King is with us and so are Apollo and Ares.” I nod my understanding and follow her back to where our group is gathered.

“You ready?” Uncle Vin asks me.

“Yep.” He doesn’t look convinced. “I swear I’m ready, I know how to do this.” He nods and turns back to face Uncle King as they go over the plan one more time.

“You look like a badass,” Ares says as I try to tie my hair up, some of the strands are too fucking short and just fall out but I get the majority of it up.

“You’re just realizing that now?” I deadpan.

“Nah, we always knew you were a badass from the day you beat the three of us on the trail,” Apollo adds.

I decide to throw the idiots a bone and be nice for once. “Stay behind me, only shoot if you have to.” All traces of humor vanish from their faces.

“We’ve killed before,” Apollo mutters.

“I know, but that wasn’t by choice, this is. Stay behind me and I’ll make sure no one shoots you in your ass cheek.” They both scoff and laugh as they nudge me.

“London.” Taking a deep breath I slowly turn to face the asshole.

“What do you want, pretty boy, can't you see I’m having fun here being a heartless bitch who loves to kill?” He opens his mouth to speak but snaps it closed. He does the same thing again and I snap, “Say whatever the fuck it is you came here to say.”

He snaps his arms out to grip my waist and hauls me into him, covering my mouth with his, kissing me with a hunger I’ve never felt from him before. I reach up to wrap my arms around his neck but he jerks back and stares down at me panting.

“I’m sorry, I do love you and I would choose you every time, just know that. Please don’t fucking hate me.” Before I can respond, he kisses me again, robbing me of air once more before he breaks the kiss and stalks away, leaving me standing here utterly fucking confused.

“Did that make sense to you?” Ares asks. I shake my head as I continue to stare after his brother.

“No fucking idea what that was, but this whole boyfriend thing is fucking hard and confusing,” I say.

“And that is why we never settle down and share everything because it’s easier than dealing with whatever the fuck that was.” I pat Apollo on the chest and wink.

“You all share because only one of you is attractive and takes pity on the other two to share the girls.” The looks on both their faces is fucking priceless.

Artemis

Crouching low, I keep the AK pressed against my shoulder as we drop down behind some boulders. I check through the scope and spot two men stationed at the bottom of the entry. I turn back to Royal and Bishop and hold up two fingers. Royal motions for Chanel to come up. She stays low as she passes by the line of men all dressed in black. She stops in front of Royal who holds two fingers up and then points to where I am. I frown, there is no way she can make that shot from this distance. I switch places with her and watch as she lifts her rifle and sets it up on the top of the boulder. She adjusts the scope and gets into position.

Holy fuck, she is going to attempt the shot!

I watch her exhale and inhale before she squeezes the trigger once and then shifts an inch and fires again. Lifting my own rifle I look through the scope and my jaw nearly hits the fucking floor, she took them both out with a single shot between their eyes. Someone taps me on the shoulder and I look back to see it’s Royal.

“She’s a dead shot, remember that,” he whispers before leading us up the incline. I fall into line behind Bishop as Chanel heads back to her team. As we near the entrance of the cave, I dart forward and tap Royal, he jerks around glaring at me. I point toward the motion sensors on the ground that border the perimeter.

“Wait,” I whisper as I crouch low and attempt to pass him but he yanks me back by my shirt.

“Where the fuck are you going?” he says barely above a whisper but his tone is filled with malice.

“To disarm the fucking things, now get the hell off me,” I snap and shrug free of his hold. When I’m near the beacon, I drop flat to my stomach and army crawl the rest of the way. I pop the back off the sprinkler looking thing and pull the wires out, the moon casting enough light for me to see the blue wire. I pull the cutters from my pocket and pray they haven’t updated the system since I had it installed two years ago. When no alarm sounds, I release a long exhale before gritting my teeth through the pain and army crawling back to Royal.

He says nothing as I reach his side, just jerks his head for me to take the lead. I turn and motion to Chanel with two fingers to head toward the eastern side and do the same to Chaos’s team but send them west. I push forward and keep my rifle cocked and ready. As we approach the entrance of the cave I spot four guards. I lift my gun and fire a shot, taking out the first guy. Before I can even shift to take out the other three, Bishop, Royal and Gage have them down. I continue forward on full alert. As we reach the entrance, I slow as this feels way too fucking easy.

“Ambush!” someone shouts. I spin around in time to see Greek soldiers coming up behind us. I duck behind a boulder for cover and then begin to fire, I check around me for Royal and the others but I can’t see them.
