“I’d be soaked,” I barely whispered as his thumb tugged at my bottom lip. His eyes widened, and I saw something dark and exciting flicker through them. I could feel the draw. It was evident that Grim Gates had a wild side, too, and I thought I just showed him mine.
“I want to ruin you so I’m the only person you see.”
“Many have tried,” I moved my gaze to his lips, “and many have failed.”
His groan vibrated through me, then his fingers were back inside me as he pressed upward and caused me to come. His lips smashed into mine and muffled my cries. He tasted sweet, and his aftershave overloaded my senses and overwhelmed me. His tongue was just like the rest of him—it demanded. I just clung on for the ride. Deep down, I knew in a moment we’d be right back to where we were, but so many colors flooded my vision, my hearing went out for a moment, my skin heated, and my body coiled and burst all at once. It was amazing. It was exactly what I needed. His hungry pants matched mine; he was right alongside me for the ride. It was raw, animalistic, and primal. Grim was relentless. He didn’t stop until he knew I was finished.
I vaguely felt him wipe between my legs as I lay limp over the seat in an effort to gather myself.
“Will you listen now?” His voice was rough, but there was a hint of humor to it.
“I don’t tame that easily. You settled a need I had, that’s all.” I shot him what I hoped was an angry glare but noticed he was still incredibly aroused. I guessed he didn’t finish. I moved to another seat and fixed my hair and dress.
A moment later, his phone rang, and he cursed like he didn’t want to answer it.
“What?” He listened. “No, keep him there. I’m just dropping Kenna off at the hotel. Give me ten.”
I leaned over and snagged my phone. I tapped the screen to see Hanna and Minnie had texted.
Hanna: Don’t forget. Tonight.
I tapped to Minnie’s message.
Minnie: I’m thinking thigh boots, and maybe a white t-shirt? Every man’s wet dream.
I smirked and had to agree. It was time to ramp up my skills at her club.
Kenna: Count me in. See you soon.
Grim buttoned his jacket as the limo stopped in front of Indulge. I ran my hands through my hair and stepped out as the driver opened the door. I suddenly wondered if he’d noticed what happened, and I didn’t look up at him. My legs were like rubber as I got out.
“The deal with Sonny is off,” Grim muttered as I made a show to go through my purse then pulled out my keycard. His eyes were back to cold steel.
“That’s not your decision to make.” I started to walk away.
“Hey,” he snagged my arm and pulled me close, “I’m serious, Kenna.”
“I know, but you need to run this by Cameron and Jim. My orders came from them both.”
“My order is the only one that counts.” He pushed my hair back and looked at my neck with sudden interest. “Don’t get yourself alone with Sonny?—”
“Kenna.” Jayden, the manager of the hosts at Indulge, came out and looked fit to kill as he stared up from his phone. “Good evening, Mr. Gates.”
“Jayden,” Grim addressed him, slowly letting me go.
“Kenna, I need you to work tonight.”
“I’m only off now,” I looked at the time on my phone, “and I need to be at Minnie’s in twenty.”
Jayden gave me a look, and I knew he was unhappy I wouldn’t work. It looked like he wanted to say more but didn’t because of Grim. I really didn’t want to give up my night off. After what just happened, I needed time to relive it all in my head.
“Oh, I see. Of course.” He nodded.
“I agree that Kenna needs her night off.” Grim smiled at him. “You can find someone else for tonight, Jayden.”
“I’m sure I can. I’ll work it out. How was your evening with Jenelle, Mr. Gates?”
Huh? I turned to look at Grim. Now the limo made sense. He had a date. I didn’t wait for the answer; I just started up the stairs.
