I immediately felt calm, like I could lay under the sun with a beach hat covering my face and a breeze dashing across my skin.

“Beautiful, isn’t it?”

My lashes fluttered as I turned to Dominic. “Very much so.”

He smirked. “I thought you’d like it.”

“Like it?” I turned my eyes back to the scenery. “I love this.”

“Even better.”

“Is that why you brought me here? Because I would love this place?”

“Not entirely.”

I smiled. One thing I loved about Dominic was he was honest, no matter the case. “What is the other reason?”

“I want you to meet my grandmother.”

My eyes widened, and I turned my attention back to him. “Your grandmother?”

“Yes.”

A smile played around my lips. “I still can’t believe I’ll be your wife.”

“Why?”

“It feels surreal.”

He nodded. “What is a man to do when a woman chases him down and then binds him under her spell?”

I laughed. “My witchcraft is superior,” I teased.

His dark laugh made my belly flip and my body tingle.

“On a more serious note, I have those same thoughts.”

“Oh?”

He reached for me, and seconds later, I was in his lap, staring into his gray, hypnotic gaze. “Love was never meant for a heart like mine. And yet, I am filled with its power—power I gathered from you.” He kissed my lips, and I closed my eyes and surrendered to his mouth’s caresses.

“This is your captain speaking,” the pilot said through the intercom. “We’ve reached Sicilian airspace and will be landing in ten minutes. Please take your seats and fasten your seatbelts. Thank you.”

I reluctantly drew away from him but didn’t want to move. “Do you think the pilot will be okay if I fasten the seatbelt over us both?”

He smirked. “No. But I live my life on the edge, so I’m willing to try it if you are.”

Laughter spilled from me, and I fell against his chest, tightening my arms around his neck. “Somehow, I feel so safe with you that I’m willing to try anything.”

“Is that right?” he drawled.

“Yes.”

A soft voice came from behind me. It was the stewardess, about to chastise us both. “Please—take your seat, madam.”

“We’re busted,” Dominic whispered.

More laughter pealed from me, and I moved from his lap before I could change my mind.
