Eventually, Arrick will start to connect dots. He probably already suspects he has a mole among the ranks. He might be erratic and paranoid, but you can’t accuse the man of being stupid. If I want to live to see Juliana, I need to get out soon.

The moment I close the doors to my quarters, I go to the dresser and dig around for the burner hidden there.

I quickly send an SOS text to Quinn before sitting on the bed and hanging my head in my hands.

Everything has turned to shit so quickly.

One moment I’m holding the woman of my dreams, and the next, she’s gone and I’m planning my exit strategy so I can survive.

Then and there, I make a decision.

I’m done. Soon as I find her, I’m out.

When it chimes, I look at the phone for my instructions. Satisfied with Quinn’s response, I go about packing a few items. Only what I can carry with me without drawing attention to myself.

Thankfully, the security system is still down. Arrick knows I’m leaving, and as long as I manage to avoid running into anyone, I should be able to meet Quinn with no problem.

Grabbing the few things I packed, I leave and make my way quietly to the compound’s exit.

It’s time to move on, hopefully with Jules right beside me.
