“I hope so. I’d love a couple of kids.”
“I would too.”
The server returned with a large tray, set it down, then placed their plates in front of them.
“Damn, that smells really good,” Cody said as he inhaled the aroma of the food.
“Wait until you taste it. Grant has a wonderful chef.”
“Do you know Mr. Hunter?” the server asked with a smile.
“I do, but he doesn’t.” She inclined her head at Cody.
“I’ve never had the pleasure. I did go to a concert of his years ago. Best damn live show I ever saw.”
The server grinned. “He’s a great boss. You two enjoy your meals, and please let me know if you need anything else.”
“Thank you, Marco,” Addison said.
Cody speared a shrimp with his fork, stuck it into his mouth and groaned when he bit into it and the flavors burst on his tongue.
“That’s fantastic.”
“Told you.” Addison smiled as she began to eat.
After they finished with their meals, their server asked if they wanted dessert, which they both declined. Cody sat back and groaned.
“I ate too much, but damn, that was great. I know I’ll be back.” He looked at Addison to see her looking over his shoulder with a smile on her face. He glanced over his shoulder and his jaw dropped when he saw Grant Hunter walking through the restaurant. Cody saw him grin, then headed in their direction.
“Addison,” he said when he reached them.
Addison slid from the booth, hugged Grant, then turned to look at Cody.
“Cody, this is Grant Hunter. Grant, this is Cody Haines, my date this evening.”
Cody slid from the booth to shake the man’s hand. Damn, he never thought he’d meet him.
“Mr. Hunter, it’s nice to meet you. I’m a fan.”
“Glad to hear that, and please, call me Grant.” They shook hands, then Grant frowned at him. “Cody Haines? The bull rider?”
Cody was shocked. Grant Hunter knew who he was.
“Yes, sir.”
“I saw you in Wyoming a few years ago. No one could touch you. What are you doing in Clifton?”
“I just bought a house here. Gray Beckett is married to my sister.”
Grant’s eyebrows rose. “Vivian is your sister? She’s a wonderful woman.”
“I think so.” Cody grinned.
“Well, I hate to run, but I’m picking up dinner for me and Jessa. I hope you enjoyed your meals.”
“Best seafood platter I’ve ever had. I know I’ll be back.” Cody put his hand out to shake again.
“Great.” Grant shook his hand, hugged Addison, then strode toward the kitchen.
