“There he is. Playing pool with that gorgeous man. Who is he?”
Addison hopped off her stool and followed Kinley’s gaze to Cody and the man standing with him. She smiled.
“That’s Levi Thomas, Cody’s manager at the ranch.”
“Oh my God, he’s gorgeous.”
“Yes, he is.”
“And tall too. I love tall men.” Kinley sighed, making Addison laugh.
“I think he might even be a little taller than Cody, who is six foot four. Maybe six foot four and a half or six foot five.”
“He has an incredible body.” Kinley turned to her. “I want him.”
“Come on, let me introduce you.”
“No, not yet. I need another drink or two to build up my courage. I’m afraid I’ll pounce on him otherwise. Ugh, I want him.”
Addison gave a nod as she observed Levi and Cody chatting by the billiard table. Neither seemed interested in playing, but Kinley was right; Levi was undeniably attractive. His dark hair had a slight curl at the ends, and his light gray eyes were striking. She couldn’t help but smile as she looked over at Cody, who appeared to be enjoying himself at the party Scarlett had offered her the bar for.
“I’m going over there. I’ll catch up with you later,” Addison said to Kinley.
“Alright, I’ll be here.” Kinley raised her glass with a grin.
Addison maneuvered through the crowd, receiving congratulations from multiple people on her way to Cody. When she finally reached him, he greeted her with a smile and wrapped his arm around her shoulder before kissing the top of her head.
“So, who’s winning?” she asked.
“Levi is. We’re done for now.”
“You didn’t take all his money, did you Levi?”
He chuckled. “No, ma’am. Though I probably should have. I beat him three times.”
“Hey, I won once!”
“That’s true,” Levi admitted while placing his cue stick back on the rack. “I’m gonna grab a beer. Congrats, you two.”
“Thank you, Levi.” Addison smiled warmly.
“Yeah, thanks man.” Cody shook his hand before Levi disappeared into the crowd.
“Are you having a good time?” Addison asked Cody.
“I am now, darlin’, now that you’re here.” He looked around. “The band is pretty good, aren’t they?”
“Yes, they play at the Bur Oak guest ranch every Saturday night when it’s open.”
“They’re talented. Let’s find our families and toast to our celebration.”
She agreed with a nod, taking his hand as they made their way to the table their families sat at together. They found two empty seats, sat, and ordered drinks.
“Quite the crowd,” Cody observed, looking around.
“The towns always love a good party.”
He glanced at her and leaned in for a kiss on the lips. “I can’t get enough of these lips,” he whispered against them.
