“A smart man knows the Queen runs the castle.”

“I love you.”

“How much?”

“A lot.”

“A lot doesn’t sound promising.”

“The most,” Solana clarified.

“Enough to put up with Morgan forever?”

“Forever?”

I tightened my grip on her waist, “Yeah, nigga. Forever.”

Solana’s eyes squinted as if she were thinking about my proposition until I tickled her side.

“I’m joking. I guess I can deal with Morgan if I get to keep you.”

“Good. I love you too.” I pecked her lips and headed out where Morgan was still reviewing the security footage. “Did you find anything?”

“Nah. It ain’t shit up there.”

“Take it with you to see Bella. See if she recognizes anyone.”

“About that Big Dog,” Morgan climbed from the couch and placed his hand on my shoulder, “I hit her to see what she wanted to eat, and she wants you.”

“Since when did you start taking orders from Bella?” I inquired.

“Don’t get cute. That’s your bitch to handle.”

“Bella isn’t my anything, so watch your mouth.”

“Anyway,” Morgan said, following me out of the door. “So, what are you going to do?”

“The plan isn’t changing. Take her some food and the footage. I’ll get up with you after.”

“Or I can just go with you, and we can stop by and see Bella.”

“I don’t need a shadow.”

“Damn, why are you getting so defensive?”

“I’m not.”

“Unless you’re going to fuck Bella and I’m getting in the way,” Mo grinned, praying that was the case, but he couldn’t be further from the truth.

“Get in the car, but I’m telling you now, if you start trippin’, I’ll leave yo’ ass wherever we’re at.”

Morgan’s hand dramatically hit his chest at my warning, “Why would I start tripping?” he asked, grinning like a toddler as he slipped into the passenger seat.

If Morgan knew where we were headed, he’d understand why I gave him that disclaimer. I knew it was a bad idea but pulled out of the parking lot anyway. I had already pushed the pickup back, dealing with all this casino shit.

I pulled into the parking lot, and we made our way inside. The sound of the door chiming made Sonja lift her head. She was standing behind the counter helping another customer that she didn’t hesitate ditching.

“Finally. I thought you changed your mind,” she smirked, greeting me with a hug.
