"Stepan, how are things looking? Are we clear to advance?" I could only see so far beyond the scattered crates of the shipyard.

The last thing I wanted was to lead us straight into enemy fire or tip off the enemy of our presence sooner than needed.

"Everyone is gathered at the dock waiting for the ship, twenty total on the ground. Ship is a few yards out still, but it's coming on schedule from the looks of it. There are ten armed men on the ship guarding two cargo containers. There could possibly be more under that I can't see or account for. The teams are cleared to advance with caution, just don't go past the last row of cargo crates." It should be illegal for him to sound so damn good giving me a report like that.

"B-Boy chiming in, confirming all that Stepan said. Thermal sweeps from my drones confirms body count as thirty total, no surprises in the ship's haul." Bao's confirmation was all I needed to give the command to advance.

Bodies would need to drop to give us an advantage. There were only fifteen of us total, half of the enemy numbers. We needed to even out the playing field. Two snipers were in the guard towers, and the ground team was split into three groups of four each.

"Snipers, once they dock fully, take out the ship men, all of them." Taking out the ten should even out the playing field for us nicely.

"Copy that." My two snipers replied one right after another.

Silently and stealthily, my team and I weaved through the rows of cargo crates as we pushed forward. Thankfully, there weren't any scattered guards to deal with.

The faint chatter of the enemy became clearer the closer we got until every single word could be heard from our hidden positions behind the very last row of crates.

"Think they'll survive this time?" I heard one of the men ask.

"If they listened. I really hope they did because I don't want to get my ass reamed again." Another voice replied.

"It was a shame, they were pretty ones too." A third voice joined whatever conversation went on.

"Lost the girls and the drugs, Lady Qing was not happy one bit, same with the old fart she's working with." The second voice spoke up again.

Damn, Angel wouldn't be happy to hear about this later. She's had her suspicions about Nikolai's new business partner double dipping with the triad. If this conversation was what I assumed, things would get messy later on.

The eerily silent night was broken by the sound of multiple gunshots that cracked at the air like a whip. Panic from the enemy side broke out after the fourth shot. The sounds of their shuffling feet filled the air, along with orders to seek and shoot.

"Everyone cover your eyes and ears." I warned before throwing a flash bomb into the enemy crowd.

I waited for the telltale sign of utter chaos from the enemy, getting their sights stunned before giving the command to charge in.

Upon rushing in, my fisted hand instantly shot out at the first person in reach, clocking them in the face with a satisfied grin when I felt something give under the force. Throwing my leg out, I kicked the guy back, causing him to fall back into his comrade right behind him. Both of them went tumbling to the ground on top of each other, and I didn't give any of them a chance to recover to their feet by delivering a swift kick to their heads, knocking them out.

"Damn, wish I had a bat." I grumbled to myself while pulling my gun out to shoot at a man with his gun pointed at Greg.

Don't get me wrong, guns are fun, but just something about a good old beating settled nicely with me. There's nothing like pummeling a man down with my own two fists to get my adrenaline and anger out of me fully. Or a good old beating with a bat or crowbar works, too, but preferably my fists.

My eyes locked onto the barreling man charging at me. The reasonable thing to do would be to dodge the man because he was going fast and twice my size, but I've been known to be unreasonable. Besides, slamming into his midsection would be fun since the force would knock the wind out of him good.

When I dropped my weight to my hips and legs and braced myself to counter-tackle, my fun dropped dead—literally. A big bullet cleared the man's head, causing his heavy body to hit the ground at my feet when his life left his body.

"Okay, rude!" I whined annoyingly with a scoff.

Scowling out of frustration, I pulled out one of my daggers and leaped at a nearby man, securing my legs around him after jumping onto his back. Repeatedly, I brought the dagger down into his neck and chest area until his body dropped to the ground dead.

"Are you seriously pissed about me saving your ass just now? That man would have flattened you like a semi-truck." Stepan's voice brought me out of my little fit with a huff as I got back up to my feet and wiped the blood off my face with the back of my hand.

"Did I ask for your help asshole? I had him." I responded in an irritated tone before lunging at another man and burying my dagger into the junction of his neck, dragging his gargling body to the ground.

"Tigress, you weigh a hundred pounds soaking wet, that man's four hundred-pound self would have sent you flying into a crate if he somehow didn't mow you over outright." He retorted in a chiding tone which pissed me off. "It's simple physics."

"Well screw physics." I grumbled with a scowl.

"Not in this world little tigress." Hearing Stepan's amused chuckle made me huff again as I pulled my dagger out of the flesh bag I just killed.

"Hey, police are on their way, so round it up and start opening the crates people." Bao informed us, making us shift our priorities.
