I magicked up a chair at the end of the bed and sat on it, inviting Mason with a gesture to sit back on the bed.The man was too distracting when he was standing.
Leo chuckled.“Oh no.Nothing like that.”
“Then what is it?”I crossed my legs and pulled the robe tight around my body.I ached in places I hadn’t known could ache.Deep down below my belly button, I hurt from too many orgasms. Was that even a thing?
Mason cleared his throat roughly, looking uncomfortable.“I’m not sure how much you know about shifters…”
He paused so I assumed that was an invitation to speak.“Not much, actually.”
“Well, in our community, you can marry anyone you want.Of course. It’s usually recommended you marry another shifter, and most people do.”
I nodded.“Same in the magical community.”And we all pretty much did.I knew a couple who had married non-magical humans, but I didn’t know any witch or warlock who’d married someone from the shifter world.
Leo slid forward, taking over the conversation.“Well, with shifters, we have something called a fated mate. It’s the person fate designed for you.Together, you’re perfect. The attraction is insane, which makes it impossible to pass that person by.”
I tilted my head to the side, processing what they were saying.“You mean like a soul mate?Lust at first sight?”
Mason chuckled.“Yeah, sort of.My parents had it, and a few of our friends do as well. It’s not super common. It’s special… It’s what both of us have been hoping for our whole lives, though I never thought I’d be so lucky as to find my fated mate.”
Mason was looking at me intensely, but I was waiting for the punchline. Then it occurred to me that they probably wanted my help in finding their special ‘one.’
“Oh, I see.”I nodded and sat up straighter on the chair.“Well, I don’t know what sort of spell will help off the top of my head, but I’ll look through some books tomorrow.”
Mason and Leo stared at each other like I was insane, then looked back at me.
“You… what?”Leo shook his head.
“You want me to help you find your fated mates, don’t you?”I asked, feeling like I didn’t understand what was going on.
The men burst out laughing, then Mason jumped off the bed, pulled me up to my feet and into his arms.My breath caught in my throat as my hands pressed against his chest.“What are you?—”
“You’reour fated mate, Tania!”Mason shook me just a little.“Don’t you understand? We’ve both been crazy about you since the first day we saw you.”
I blinked up at him, my mind whirling with the consequences of what he was saying.“But, hang on.You’re saying that fate thinks we should be together, so you two don’t have any say in it?”
Because, surely, they’d never choose me if they were able to make a conscious decision about it.
Mason snorted.“Only you could put such a negative spin on something so amazing. We’re meant to be, Tania. So, if you’ll have us… we’re yours.Forever.There will never be another woman for us now. You’re it, whether you want us or not.”
Leo huffed out a laugh, “Mase, chill out.”He grabbed my arm and pulled me toward him.“There’s no pressure. If you need time to think, or just want to start dating for a bit, we’re good with that too.”
Leo led me to sit on the bed next to him.I blindly followed him even though my mind whirled with thoughts.I didn’t want them feeling obligated to stay with me if they didn’t want to.How terrible was that?
“You guys would never choose a woman like me, so why listen to this fate thing?”It sounded utterly ridiculous.
Leo flipped back my robe to reveal one of my thighs and ran a hand up my flesh.I couldn’t stop the pulse of pleasure that his touch caused inside of me.
“Who said we’d never choose you?”Leo answered.“If we weren’t fated I’d probably fight Mase to have you for myself, but since he’s fated too and you seem to want both of us, we figured we could make it work.”
“This?”I gestured to the three of us.“Make this work? For how long?”
Mason sat in the chair I’d conjured up.“You really aren’t listening, are you?”He chuckled and smiled to take the sting out of the words.“Fated mates is forever. If you’ll have us.”
“Forever?”I repeated because I didn’t believe them.They couldn’t be serious?
Leo’s fingers were wandering into dangerous territory as he said, “What do you want, Tania? You let us take you to bed, so hopefully that means you want us too.”
“Of course, I do!”I couldn’t help but agree. But they couldn’t think that was enough.“You’re gorgeous, and lovely, and funny and I love how hard you’ve worked to save your family. That’s just…”
