“No, thank God. The last I heard, she’s got four kids and lives in Wisconsin.”
“I guess we should wish her well,” I say, still laughing.
“What was your worst date?”
“This morning,” I tease. “When this arrogant guy thought I’d be won over with his big dick energy.”
His eyebrows lift and he rubs my foot over said energy. “Big dick, huh?”
“Hmm.” I act unimpressed, but the way it’s stayed alert throughout most of this bath time has been impressive and the way it’s growing to its full stature now is even more so.
“How did that end up for you?” he asks.
I lift a shoulder. “With me on my knees.”
A laugh bursts out of me, and his grin is primal as he puts his hands on either side of my thighs and tugs me until I’m straddling him.
“And your best date?” he asks, rubbing me over his hardness.
“This one night, I ended up in the tub with a guy and his big—”
He bites my bottom lip and tickles my side and I cackle, my head falling back. He kisses up my neck and I squirm over him, his hands sliding down to my ass and squeezing.
I put my hands on either side of his face, my lips brushing against his. “As incredible as this bath date has been, I think I’m ready for bed.”
His kiss is light, sweet. “Sleepy?”
He wraps my legs around his waist and stands, and despite us both being wet and slippery, I feel completely safe in his arms.
“No, I’m not sleepy,” I whisper in his ear and he pauses, his grin kicking up a few notches.
I grab a towel as we walk past them and put it around his shoulders. He walks into the bedroom and sets me in the middle of the bed. The towel slides from his shoulders and he dries me off as best he can.
“I’m just gonna get wet again anyway.” I grab the towel and toss it over his shoulder and I can feel his smile as he buries his head in my neck, kissing down my skin.
“Marlow Agatha Walker, after last night, I didn’t know I’d discover more favorite things about you today.” He glances up at me as his tongue flicks my nipple. “These are still way up there,” he says, giving the other side attention too. “But the things coming out of—and in—that pretty mouth, damn woman, they are giving me life.”
I press my lips together and giggle. “I didn’t know I had it in me,” I admit.
“You’re leaving so many openings with that one that I don’t even know where to start,” he teases.
“One hole at a time,” I say and then clamp my hand over my mouth, shaking my head as I start laughing so hard I can’t breathe.
He starts laughing too, and for the longest time, we just lay there laughing. When one of us slows down, the other starts laughing again even harder.
Something happens inside me, a weight I didn’t realize I’d been carrying falls off of me. I feel younger, lighter, more carefree than…maybe ever. And it’s weird, but I think the same thing happens to Wyatt. He looks so unbelievably happy, like he’s a world away from Pine Community and the stresses there, or the unease of just this morning.
When we’re finally quiet, the smiles still lingering on our lips, we face each other and our kisses are breathless and hopeful. I throw my fist in the air when he produces the strand of condoms and once one is securely on him, he sinks into me and we both breathe a sigh of bliss.
“Full disclosure,” he says. “This has been the best date I’ve ever had too.”
He rolls me on top of him and it doesn’t take long for the urgency between us to build.
I can’t believe I ever resisted this man.
