He nodded. "Even lower than people who put milk in the bowl before they put in cereal."

I slapped him lightly on the chest. "No one does that." I cocked my head. Do they?"

"No one I know," he admitted. "But if they did, I hope they get the help they so obviously need."

I laughed and took the soap from his hand. I started rubbing it around his chest and down his stomach. "Damn, man, are you actually made of rock?" I made him turn around and started on his ass.

"I don't think so," he replied. "Just blood, sweat, a lot of hard work."

"Good. I'd hate to think you were born this way. It would be totally unfair to us mere mortals." I lathered up and down his back.

"I could say the same about you. In fact I would." He wriggled his ass playfully. "I was worried you might end up being too good to be true."

My hand froze.

He might think that once he found out who I was.

CHAPTER 7

OLLIE

"Dude, are those fingernail scratches?" Bam asked. The Rapids' running back leaned around me and looked at my back. "Hell yeah, they are." He grinned. "Little Ollie Tucker got laid."

I frowned. "Why don't you tell everyone?" He’d said it loud enough.

He turned around to face the rest of the locker room, cupped his hands around his mouth and said, "Hey, everyone, Ollie got laid."

I punched him in the arm. "Asshole. What the hell was that for?"

"You said I could," he argued, "so I did."

"You're a prick." I glared at him.

He grinned again. "Hell yeah, I am. I've got no problem admitting it either."

I shook my head. "Hasn't Grace figured it out yet?"

Bam clapped me on the shoulder. "Yeah, she has. Lucky for me, love is blind. So how about you? Who is she? Does she know you still live at home with your mumma?"

"I might have mentioned it." I opened my locker and pulled out a shirt. I slid it over my head and yanked it down into place before anyone else decided to check out my battle scars.

I wasn't ashamed of a single one. They meant Rubie was into me. The pain from her fingernails was a memory I'd hang onto until I saw her again. One of many amazing memories.

"What's this I hear about you getting laid?" Hawk, the Rapids' star quarterback, leaned against the locker beside mine.

He was so loved up with his girlfriend Bec, I don't know how he had time to wonder about anyone else's love life. Honestly, they were one of the cutest couples out there. I was happy for them, even though I didn't know what a beautiful woman like her saw in a clown like him. He was one of my closest friends, I knew all his flaws.

Bam was right, love is blind.

I shrugged. "I don't know what to tell you. Boy meets girl."

Hawk and Bam looked at me expectantly.

"And?" Bam asked.

"And, what?" I asked. "What else is there to say?"

"Does she have a name?" Hawk asked.
