After hugging all of them, I went to my mama. She stood and hugged me again. “He really seems like a nice guy. Apparently, y’all are already getting along well since the photographer made it in here before the two of you.”

My face heated as I laughed. “He’s so handsome, and his swag is hot.”

I playfully fanned myself with my hand. “That he is. I was more impressed with the letter and the things he did for you. I hope that remains constant,” she said as her eyes lifted above me.

When I felt his arms loop around me, I couldn’t help but smile. Although we still had so much to learn about each other, this felt so right. I regretted not having my babies here with me. He kissed my neck, causing me to giggle, then released me to go sit with Vegas and Jungle. “How are my babies, Mama? Have you talked to them?”

“Yeah. They’re as fine as they always are when they’re with Clayton. Does he know that you have children?”

“We don’t know a thing about each other. However, I know it was one of the questions. Apparently, he was okay with it; otherwise, we wouldn’t be here. We have a lot to talk about though. I only know that he’s a doctor because of his short talk with Daddy. I think he was trying to intimidate him by introducing himself as Doctor Daniel King.”

I rolled my eyes as my mama chuckled. “Absolutely. He never brags about being a doctor. Neither do I. So he was definitely trying to intimidate him. I’m assuming it backfired.”

“Yes. Gentry is a veterinarian,” I said then giggled.

“What time does your flight leave?”

“At nine. What time is it?”

“It’s four thirty. I take it the two of you will be leaving soon.”

“Well, my luggage is in my trunk. So we will probably leave in the next hour or two. I want us to have time to talk before the flight. My nerves were so on edge yesterday, I didn’t sleep well last night. It’s close to a twelve-hour flight, and I plan to sleep for most of it.”

“Understandably so. Well, go ahead and mingle with your guests. We’ll have time to talk more when you get back.”

“Okay, Mom. I love you.”

“I love you more.”

When I walked away from my mama, Alexz looped her arm through mine, and Skyler was on the other side of me. They’d come without their husbands. Axton couldn’t take off on such short notice, and neither could Dylan. “So I know we gon’ stroll for your man,” Alexz said.

Skyler smiled. I shrugged my shoulders. “I don’t know. This dress might be too revealing for that. I don’t wanna give everyone a show. Just him.”

Skyler laughed loudly as Alexz said, “I know that’s fucking right. Is he frat?”

“I have no idea.”

As if right on cue, “Atomic Dog” started to play. Alexz rolled her eyes and said, “Aww shit. He’s a Q. As if we don’t have enough of those muthafuckas in the family.”

“Isn’t your husband a Q, Alexz?”

“Mm hmm. He don’t count though. I love his ass. Chad is a Q. That’s more than enough,” she responded as Chad, DJ, and Arrow stood from their seats to join Gentry on the dance floor.

I watched his sexy ass bark and stick out his tongue. My pussy cut fucking flips when he flicked it back and forth. He was staring right at me as he did that shit too. As he approached me, the ladies released my arms and backed away from me, giving him total access. He wrapped his arm around my waist, pulling me to the floor. The guys strolled around us, and he picked me up and tongued me down like no one was in the room.

His brother sat in a chair, and he took me to him, gesturing for me to sit on his leg. He pulled the garter from my covered leg as all his single friends gathered for the toss. After kissing my lips, he pulled away but then came right back and kissed me again. “Aww, come on, nigga!” Emerson yelled.

I laughed so hard. This moment was surreal, and I couldn’t believe that everything had gone so smoothly so far. The chemistry and what even seemed like love between Gentry and me already was overwhelming. Our families were getting along, and so were our friends. I wasn’t naïve to believe that it would be smooth sailing, but damn. I wasn’t expecting this level of peace with all of them being here. Even Daniel and Dad had loosened up.

I walked over to the side as Gentry did the toss, never taking his eyes off me. He was so sweet, nasty, and everything I desired on the surface. I couldn’t wait to get to know the parts of him I couldn’t see.

“I’m a dental hygienist at Yunique Mott’s office. She was my maid of honor, but she’s also my boss. She’s the only one that knew I even sought out the services. I somewhat regret not telling them sooner, but I was so afraid they would try to talk me out of it.”

Gentry gave my hand a reassuring squeeze and smiled slightly. “I get it. With your mom being a psychiatrist, she can probably talk you out of anything, if you let her.” He chuckled. “So tell me one important thing about you.”

I smiled then looked around at the few people walking past us. We were at the airport, waiting for our flight to board. I’d never been to Hawaii, and I was extremely excited about it. The ride here was somewhat quiet. We only kissed a few times and stared at one another in awe.

“I have two beautiful children, and their father is my best friend.”
