I narrow my eyes.

“Okay, okay.” Her grin makes my heart leap. “It was wonderful. You are wonderful.”

“Let me just go get rid of this condom.”

“There’s a bin in the bathroom.” She pecks me on the lips.

Once I’ve returned, she climbs out of bed to use the bathroom and returns to the bed, naked.

“We’ve got an early start in the morning.” She kisses me on the nose. “And all that sexy time has left me tired.”

She rolls over and I nuzzle her neck. “Really? You’re not keen on another round?”

Leaning her head back, she sighs. “Yes, but …”

I pull her onto her back, and she smiles. “Just a little bit more sexy time?” I ask.

Pania strokes my bicep. “Well, maybe you could convince me.”

And then I kiss her, and try to make her forget for a while that we ever have to leave this bed.

It works.

“Reece.” Pania shakes my shoulder, and I bat her hand away.

“Hmmm?”

“It’s time to get up.”

I open one eye. “It’s still dark out.”

“Yes. You can sleep in the car. I want to get out of the city early because it’s school holidays and the traffic will be awful if we leave too late.”

I yawn and sit up. My phone’s all the way over on the coffee table. “What’s the time?”

“Just after five. You need to get dressed, then we’ll be ready to go. We can grab something to eat once we’re off the motorway.”

Rubbing my face with my hands, I push myself to my feet. “Do I have enough time for a shower?”

“If you only take five minutes, yes.”

Groaning, I walk to the bathroom and turn on the water. My eyes want to close, but being under the shower wakes me up, and I wash myself off. Pania has some coconut scented shampoo, and I have nothing else, so I just use that to wash my hair.

“Do you need a towel?” she calls out.

I look outside the shower door. The only towel in the bathroom is a hand towel by the basin. I laugh. “Yes please.”

Pania shakes her head as she walks in the door and places a towel on the edge of the basin. “I should make you suffer.”

“After I made you come all those times last night?”

She turns to look at me. “Was that you building up brownie points?”

I shrug. “I thought it might count.”
