Page 32 of Breaker
Violet sucks in a breath before Tats' voice hits my ears again, "Brother, get a prospect to bring you to the tattoo shop. I'll meet you there…."
I feel like I can’t breathe. "But I-I…."
“No. You didn't cheat, brother. I saw the text last night; you didn't fucking cheat, even though I know you feel like you did. Get to the tattoo shop now. I'll touch up your chest piece, and we'll talk about the wedding, alright? Come on, brother, get moving."
I shake my head, then thank him, then I hang up just as Violet rasps to Tats, "Hurry, he needs you…."
I don't fucking deserve friends like them. Tats has been emotionally and mentally abused by his clubwhore of a birth mother because she never got his dad's patch, yet he's the best fucking guy I know, while Violet lost her parents in a hit and run when she was seventeen and still holds her innocence.
They have both been through so much and decided to keep their relationship on the down low.
I squeeze my eyes shut as an image of Suzy, on her knees, comes back to me, making me sob. I know I didn't cheat, but I fucking feel like I did because Quinn woman owns my heart.
It's not fucking right what I did, and it's not fucking okay that she ended things with us.
Shaking my head, I quickly dress before throwing the red panties away, bile hitting my throat again.
I need out of this room.
Suddenly, a thought hits me, and panic consumes me….
Fuck…. I'm never going to get her back, am I?

Quinn
I sigh as I gently curl my hair down my back, wondering why in the hell I agreed to do this.
Oh yeah, because Olivia is the sweetest girl I've ever met. When I started dating Breaker, we became close, and I was supposed to teach her little girl April in a few months when she starts school.
That's not happening now. I have had several interviews, some of which were virtual ones, in California and New York. I've left no stone unturned. If I have to leave the state, then I will.
I haven't got anything waiting for me now anyway, leaving Noah though, that thought hurts.
With one last curl, I grab my hair clip and gently, flipping gently, twist my hair up on the top of my head so Liv doesn't ask any questions. My dress is already in Smokey's room.
Today is not only April's 5th birthday party but also Liv's surprise wedding to Smokey. Honestly, they both deserve it, especially after he lost his memory, and she thought she lost him. I couldn't say no when Smokey called me, it just means I have to see Breaker.
That consuming feeling is still there, and it's panicking me. I need it to go; I need to not feel how my momma did….
Swallowing hard, I quickly grab my white and blue sneakers and put them on, ensuring my curlers are switched off before going to my living room. If I have to move out of state, I must admit, I will miss this cozy room.
Sighing, I grab my keys and head out, keeping my promise to Smokey while also trying not to look at Breaker.
Yeah, because keeping a distance after a breakup always works when you've fallen in—not.
Twenty minutes later, I'm pulling up to the gates. I stop and wait for them to open as I look at the prospect before doing a double take. My eyes widen at Jack standing there, grinning, with a cut on.
I put my window down as he walks over to me. "A prospect, huh?"
He smiles and nods. "Yeah, Squirt…." He holds his arms out and does a spin, making me half smile as he asks, "What do you think?"
I nod and say, "I think it suits you."
His eyes soften as he rasps, "Thanks, little sis. Head on in, Liv is in the kitchen, and she has no idea…."
I nod as he leans down and kisses my cheek as I feel his eyes on me. I look toward the main door and see Breaker, and my heart shatters. He's wearing a white button-down shirt, and his cut and jeans. He’s looking too sexy.
