“Room service,” a feminine voice calls through the door. “Your big scary guard dog won’t stop staring at me like he’s going to eat me.”
That makes me grin and laugh. “Coming!” I call back and rush toward the door. When I throw it open, Edison, someone Calvin himself hired recently for the tour, is standing there next to a tall blonde woman dressed in a hotel uniform. He’s a massive man for a beta. Honestly, I think he missed his calling.
“Thanks, Edison, I got it from here,” I tell him as I go to take the cart but then I pause. My nose twitches, the smell of the food I ordered filling my nose, along with a different smell. Lavender mixed with a hint of orange. It’s very faint but it’s there.
“Is everything alright?” the woman asks me as she looks down at the food.
“Everything looks fine, I just... I smell something. Lavender with orange? Did they send up any fruit?”
“Oh.” She laughs. “No, sorry, that would be me.”
“You?” I blink at her confused.
Her cheeks heat. “Ah, yes.” She clears her throat. “It’s my alpha scent.”
I freeze, blinking at her like a deer caught in the headlights. Alpha? She said alpha.
Holy shit. Oh my God. My blockers have worn off.
Needing to make sure, I step around the cart, and like a nutball I shove my face into her neck and inhale deeply. Holy shit, it is her. It’s hard to make out, and I have to practically snort it off her like a line of coke, but it’s there.
“Ahh, miss... is everything okay?” She looks at me with concern and confusion when I step back.
“Yes, sorry. Sorry. I’m so sorry about that.” I laugh, a stupid grin taking over my face. “You smell good. Like, really good.”
“Thanks.” Her cheeks heat more.
“Sorry,” I giggle like a crazy woman. “It’s just, I’ve been on alpha blockers for so long, it’s been a while since I’ve smelled an alpha.”
“Oh.” She blinks at me. “Glad the first scent you smelled in a while was a good one.” She laughs. “I’ll leave you to your breakfast.”
“Thank you. Thank you so much.”
Pulling the cart into the room, I close the door and put my back to it. “This is really happening.”
A wave of nerves hit me hard. Fuck. This is really happening. The next time I see Calvin, it’s all going to click into place.
My heart starts to race as I move away from the door. Fanning myself, I try to take deep breaths through the panic. “Everything is going to be okay. You already love him. You know you want him as your alpha. You're going to be fine.”
Only, once that bond snaps into place for me, everything changes. Is Gianna right? Will my bond with Calvin be so powerful it changes how I feel about the guys?
No. No, she’s wrong. What the guys and I have is too strong to just go away. Scent match or not. And there’s tons of packs out there where the omega isn’t scent matched with their whole pack. It’s not going to change anything. I won’t let it. I’ll make sure they all feel loved and wanted by me.
A ding sounds letting me know I got a text message, and it has me rushing to my phone. My belly flutters when I see that it’s Calvin.
Calvin: Hello, my Darling. I’m back at my hotel room. Just going to take a quick shower, and then I’ll come grab you. The guys will be a little bit longer, they are doing a quick press conference about the new song coming out with Garrett Ford.
The mention of the song has me remembering a few days ago when the guys did downright dirty things to me in the recording studio, and my belly heats.
I text Calvin back an ‘okay, see you soon’ with a kissy face.
Looking over at the food, I sigh, realizing I won’t be eating that right now. What a waste of food, but I’m too nervous to eat.
I make it all of three minutes before I say fuck it and head for the door. “Heeeeyyy,” I say to Edison in a surgary, sweet voice. “You saw Calvin head into his hotel room, right?”
“Yes,” he responds with a nod.
“So, like, I’m gonna go over there. And I think it would be a good idea if you stayed like... over here.”
