Page 41 of Her Gentle Daddy
“Daddy!”
Sean chuckled and held her tightly against him as Olly barked with excitement.
“Hi, baby girl. I missed you today. Did you have a good day? How much chocolate has Jace given you today?”
Gabby giggled and kissed her Daddy’s cheek.
“Just two squares, Daddy.”
Setting her down on her feet, Sean smiled down at her and ruffled her hair.
“I brought someone here with me to see you, baby girl.”
She looked up at him with a confused expression. She didn’t know anyone other than him, Zane, and Jace, so she didn’t know who it could possibly be, and she felt a little nervous about it.
“Damian, the man that you saw and thought looked like someone bad that you knew, I brought him here so you could properly meet him.”
Gabby stepped back and shook her head, feeling as though her throat was closing in on her. Olly was immediately at her side, pawing at her legs.
“Baby, listen to me. Do you trust me?”
Nodding her head, she stared up into his green eyes and relaxed just slightly, knowing that Sean wouldn’t do anything to harm her.
“Damian is a good man, and I thought that if you got to know him that you would see the differences between him and that bastard who hurt you. I will be here the entire time, and so will Olly, and if at any time you really want him to leave, he will without question.”
Olly continued to paw at her legs and walk circles around her, rubbing himself against her feet. Sean reached his hand out for her, and without hesitation, she took it.
“I’m scared.”
“I know, sweetie, but I would never, ever put you in a position where you would be unsafe.”
She nodded, “You’ll stay the entire time? Will you hold me?”
“Of course I will.”
Sean stepped closer to her, picked her up, and carried her over to the reading corner, where a pile of cushions and pillows were thrown. He sat down, pulling her with him, and the puppy ran right over into her arms as well. Her Daddy snuggled her in his arms and held her for several minutes in silence while she stroked Olly’s soft fur. When she felt completely calm, she nodded.
“Okay, Daddy. I’m ready.”
Sean lifted his hand and signaled toward the door, and as soon as it opened, Gabby felt her entire body tense up as the large man she’d seen a few weeks ago stepped into the room. He was massive and not the least bit gentle looking, which made her shrink back into her Daddy’s arms even further.
Damian walked toward them but stopped several feet away and sat down on the floor near one of the bookshelves.
“Hi, Gabby, I’m Damian,” he said softly.
Her eyes were focused on Olly as he wiggled in her lap, and Sean tightened his hold on her. When she didn’t respond, Sean spoke up.
“I’ve known Damian for about seven years. He’s also a Daddy and owns a personal security company, so his number one job is keeping people safe.”
Her puppy got free from her hold and wandered over to where Damian sat with his legs out in front of him and sniffed all around him before his tail started wagging excitedly.
“Hey, little buddy. What’s your name?”
Olly let out a bark, and Damian chuckled.
“His name is Olly,” she said quietly.
“Olly is a cutie. Can I pick him up?”
