“Will you be mine? For real.”
“I think so.”
Konrad huffed, but Dahy hooked a leg over his hip. “Yes.”
“Are you sure?”
“No.”
The groan wasn’t a happy one.
“I mean, yes.”
Konrad ran a hand up his thigh, but it was a slow caress, not the desperate clutching it had been seconds ago. “Maybe we should wait.”
The disappointed tone cut Dahy’s soul. “I want you.”
Konrad nodded but was moving away at the same time. Panic rose in Dahy’s mind. Was he leaving him?
“I’ll sleep on the—”
“Oh, hell no!” Dahy flung himself on Konrad. It wasn’t the stealthiest attack, but he curled his arms around Konrad’s neck.
“Hell no?” Konrad’s arms wrapped around him.
“Hell no. I have the right to be uncertain.”
Silence stretched, then Konrad pulled in a deep breath. “Okay.”
It was the right answer, and yet it was wrong. “You’re the alpha of a werewolf pack.”
“I know.”
“It complicates things.”
Konrad gently kneaded his back, and Dahy melted on top of him, arching into the touch.
“It would’ve been easy if I hadn’t been the alpha?”
Dahy made a sound somewhere between a no and a moan. Then he kissed Konrad’s neck because it was right there within reach.
“Dahy?”
“I think less talk is key, Konrad.”
Konrad chuckled, and it sent a shiver down Dahy’s spine. “You’re so weird, babe. Normally, people prefer communication.”
“No endearments.” Dahy pushed up, sat straddled over Konrad’s hips, and pulled off the T-shirt. He hadn’t more than dropped it to the floor before Konrad slid his hands over his naked skin, and Dahy swallowed a purr. When Konrad chuckled again, Dahy bent over him and captured his mouth in a kiss. “Will you be mine?”
“Always.”
“So fuck me.”
Konrad’s fingers dug into his sides. “Are you sure?”
“Less talking, Kon. For fuck’s sake.” He wasn’t sure he wanted a werewolf mate, but he didn’t want to be without Konrad.
There was a tug at the elastics of his sweats. “Get these off then.”
