Page 3 of The Alpha's Huntress

“She’s in your room waiting for you to get back. She missed you.” She replied.

I nodded. “Thanks grandma.”

I went upstairs to my bedroom. I opened the door and saw my rottweiler asleep on my bed.

“Midnight.” I whispered. I tossed my ripped holsters on the bed.

Her head shot up. She ran to me and jumped into my arms.

“Did you miss me?” I asked.

She barked in response.

She has her own way of communicating with me. One bark for ‘yes’, two barks for ‘no’, and three barks for ‘you’re stepping on my tail.’

She has black fur. All of her paws are light brown, same with half her face, and she has a large patch of white fur on her chest. She had light brown fur above her eyes and inside her ears.

I put her down and looked in my mirror.

Everytime I hunt rogues I wear black army pants, black combat boots, a black leather jacket with a hood underneath, and black leather gloves.

Oh, and my black mask that covers from my forehead to the tip of my nose.

I always use perfume to mask my scent.

I use cheep perfume, but it still smells good.

I only use it when I go out hunting.

I went into my bathroom and took a cold shower.

It actually feels really good. Especially if you come back as a sweaty mess.

I came out and put on a sports bra, a dark blue T-shirt, and gray shorts.

I took my holsters from the bed and made my way downstairs as Midnight followed.

My grandparents were at the kitchen island looking through some files.

“Grandpa, the rogues today ripped my holsters. Can you fix them?” I asked.

I handed him the holsters. He looked them over.

“Yes, I can, but you need to learn how to fix them yourself.” He replied handing me back the holsters.

“Wait why?” I asked.

“We have some news.” My grandma said.

“Alright, what is it?” I asked.

“You have to go to Canada. There’s a place near pack’s territory that have been overrun with rogues, and the pack isn’t strong enough yet, to take them down. They need help that where you come in.” My grandpa explained.

“Canada!? That’s so far away. Are you sure I’m ready to that far away from you guys?”

“You’ll be fine. It’s just until you can get the rogue problem under control. If you run out of arrow you know how to make more.” My grandpa pointed out.

I sighed. “I don’t have a choice, do I?”
