“What’s the All Key and why is it stuck in my head?”

Dorian looked like Hell again and it was all her fault. She drank him down to his last pint, several times. Ashamed that she had zero control over her thirst yet, she bit her bottom lip, accidentally piercing herself and wincing. Ouch! Damn, these fangs were sharp as needles.

But the blood welling in her mouth tasted so good. It tasted a lot like Dorian. Maybe she could suck on herself for a little? Was that weird? That’s weird, right?

Dorian shifted in his seat. He looked like sex dipped in danger. Lena’s mouth watered.

“Remember the blood curse?” Dorian leaned forward to rest his elbows on his knees, hiding his erection. “The All Key, alakhai, is the one who cures the longing.”

Lena’s mouth went slack. She remembered vividly that supreme hollowness she had in her dream. Remembered wondering if that was the emptiness vampires experienced before they found a mate.

“Mate sounds less significant for some reason,” Dorian leaned back in his seat again, his erection back in full display. “But the word alakhai puts pressure on fated ones, so no one uses the term much anymore.”

“So, you no longer feel the longing?” The jet rocked as it hit a bit of turbulence. Lena’s stomach clenched. She really hated flying.

“Hey,” he said softly, and reached over to rub her thighs. “You’re okay. It’s just a little turbulence.”

“I know, I’m just…” Dorian stared at her with the same look he had on his face when he’d turned her. Like he was enraptured by her. It made Lena all squishy and self-conscious.

Apart from the veins still spiderwebbing around his eyes, the greens of his iris had darkened to a reddish black, and the veins in his neck were protruding and pulsing under his paler skin, he looked ravishing. Strong.

Mesmerized by her.

“I still feel longing.” He gracefully dropped out of his chair, sinking down onto his knees before her. Lena’s legs opened for him and she cursed the jeans she wore. “I don’t think I’ll ever be able to stop longing for you.” He brought her hand to his lips and kissed her fingertips, one by one.

The ribbons in her head danced—all shadows and sensuality.

“I see ribbons in my head. Dancing or something. Is that normal?” Of all the changes she’d just experienced, from the crystal-clear eyesight, brightness in colors, loudness of noises, over-the-top sensitivity of her skin, this was the one thing that concerned her?

She needed a priority check, ASAP.

“The spirit of an alakhai is different for everyone.” Dorian slipped her shoes off and ran his hands up her calves. “They usually involve the color red and a binding symbol.”

“Do you have it too?”

“No, but I’m a born vampire. Only an alakhai would have something like that. But, when I was maturing, I had this vision of a river current that would make a strong, steady whirring noise in the back of my head.”

“Do you still hear it?”

“Yes, sometimes. It’s loudest when I’m killing.”

Her lust spiked at the mention of him slaying something.

Dorian eyes widened with surprise. He must have sensed her getting turned on. “Let’s see if we can’t alleviate some of that tension.” He unhooked her fly and pulled her jeans down.

Lena bit her lip again and winced. Damnit, she needed to stop that! It fucking hurt!

Chuckling, Dorian leaned in and captured her mouth with his. His kiss was languorous and deep. It set her loins ablaze. “You’ll get used to your fangs,” he promised.

“I’m looking forward to getting used to yours.”

He chuckled deeply. “You’re killing me.” Then he lowered his head between her thighs and ripped her panties off with his teeth.

“I liked those.”

“I’ll buy you more. Then tear those with my teeth too.” He buried his face in her pussy and rendered Lena speechless for a solid twenty minutes. Three mind-blowing orgasms later, he pulled away and she moaned at the sheen of her lust smeared across his mouth.

He licked his lips and smiled. “Delicious.”
