“Let’s talk about something else. Like the Krypt Crew in Drumheller,” Jesse suggested, desperate for a change in topic. “I hear they got a new drug they’re manufacturing. Cheaper and stronger than ecstasy. Cheaper than anything we sell.”

“Yeah, it’s a problem. I’m working with Wyatt on creating a pill that’s even more potent and a fraction of that cost but it’s not ready yet. And chemistry was only my minor. But Avery can’t help out like she used to now that she’s preggo.”

“It still blows my mind that I’m gonna be an uncle shortly. And Sonny, our enforcer, with a kid? I don’t know, man. That’s scary as fuck. I’m gearing up for a shitload of fighting.”

“I just hope it doesn’t change things,” Xander whispered.

“What do you mean?”

“Like the parties, the gun running, the bunker, everything.”

“They’ll just keep the kid away from all that. Until they’re old enough to understand. Dad did it with me and Avery and we turned out all right.”

“True. I just, I don’t know. It feels like so much is changing. Maybe I did catch something,” Xander paused and stared out the window. “You want to give me a full physical?”

Jesse sighed as they pulled into town and headed for the diner. “Conflict of interest. Sorry.”

“Hey, I think we’ve got trouble,” Xander stated.

“What?” Jesse glanced down the road and saw the bikes parked in front of the diner. “Shit, is that?—”

“Yup, speak of the devils.”

The Krypt crew had a lot of explaining to do.

CHAPTER 3

XANDER

The last thing Xander and Jesse needed was a run in with the Krypt Crew in a public place like the diner. And what the fuck? Did they want a beat down? What were they doing here? Any crew knew that wandered into Hellraiser territory, including the town proper, was asking for it.

“You got shotguns in the flatbed?” Xander asked, reaching for his Glock and his hunting knife.

“Of course, locked and loaded.”

“I’ve never gone into Sam’s with one before, but I guess there’s a first time for everything.”

Jesse grunted. “I think he’d rather see us than them. But yeah, the chances are pretty high that we’re gonna shoot the place up. I hope Sam has good insurance coverage.”

Xander watched Jesse get his gun ready and fuck if that didn’t turn him on. It was a problem.

The biggest.

The flirting was harmless, but the longer Xander spent around Jesse, the harder his dick got. And fucking with a club member was a hell to the no. Xander preferred randos. And variety. Having different woman and men, every fucking week, was his kind of life. Once he fucked, the randos were gone. There was no talking, except the dirty kind.

But it had been at least a few weeks since he’d had any action so maybe that was the problem. It wasn’t Jesse. Xander was just frustrated.

“You set?” Jesse asked.

Xander glanced up again, at Jesse’s big brown eyes, cut jaw, and blond hair, and suddenly his jeans were far too fucking tight.

He really needed to get laid. Tonight. As soon as possible. Right after they gave the Krypt crew a hard lesson in biker 101. Don’t fuck with a crew’s territory.

Xander checked his Glock one last time and nodded.

“Let’s do it.”

With their cuts on and their weapons loaded, they approached the diner slowly.
