He rolls his eyes at me because yeah…I’m definitely worn out.
“So, when you moving in?” Might as well be as blunt as he is. Jed laughs, his fingers slipping into mine underwater.
“Here?”
“Sure, or we could get a new place.”
Kade looks at me before shifting his eyes to the cabin, the frozen stream that runs through the property, the forest and the snow, and then the mountains all around us. It might not be right on the ocean like the house they grew up in, but it’s so nice here. I found it by mistake that summer after Jed and I traveled together. I’d been looking for a place to stay after deciding not to go home right away, and I’d stumbled upon the ad for this property. It was a bit more than we could afford at the time, but we both had savings, and my dad and Rayne and Corbin helped us out a bit. I do love it, but I’d also be okay with Kade wanting somewhere fresh for the three of us.
“I mean, if it’s cool with you guys, I kind of love this place.” Kade shifts so he’s facing us. “I know it’s yours, but we could make it ours, yeah?”
“Fuck yeah,” Jed agrees. “We can even build on to it a bit. It’s pretty small, so we could plan a reno at some point to make the kitchen and living room bigger.”
“I want my own office.” I start dreaming. “Like, a place where all my photo stuff and computers can go. My own space that you aren’t allowed in unless I invite you in. Oh! And I want a secret library behind a hidden door.”
“Do you even read?” Kade laughs. “I’ve never seen you with a book.”
Sometimes. “I always wanted a rolling ladder.”
“We can add a rolling ladder to your photo nerd room, yeah?” Jed compromises. “And the secret library door can lead to our sex dungeon.”
“Ugh,” I groan. “No sex dungeons. It’d never get used anyway. You two like to fuck out in the open too much.”
“We do?” Kade accuses.
Fair point. “So, you’ll live with us?”
Kade smiles timidly. “Yeah, if you want me to.”
“I love you,” I remind him. “Of course we want you to.”
Jed nods to agree.
I sip my coffee and tip my head back to look up at the sky. “Ah, we’re nailing this unconventional relationship shit. What are we going to conquer next?”
“Your permanent residency,” Kade says. “That’s what we’re conquering next.”
I cross my fingers in secret. I hope so, too.
Chapter 51
Laken takes off to go meet up with Gar, and now that Gar knows what’s actually up, I feel safer letting her be around him. At least he’ll know to watch out for Amber, and at least they’re smart enough not to go to his place. They were going to go boarding, but Laken’s legs aren’t up for the task, so now they’re going for a drive. Gar better make shit right.
Since we barely slept and the hot tub relaxed me, I make yet another pot of coffee and lean over the counter to watch it drip.
“Alright, asshole,” Kade comes in after a shower. “I know we don’t usually talk about shit after the fact, and I don’t really want to now, either, but…like holy fuck, that was hot, right?”
I keep my face to the coffee pot, grinning. “Fucking right it was. That will never get old.”
I don’t want to talk about the details either. I can’t be certain because I couldn’t really see, but if our cocks touched, grazed or brushed, I’d rather not know about it.
“Where’s Dom?” I ask him.
“I just caught them fucking in the bathroom. Liam’s a total bottom. Knew it.” Kade smirks.
“They look good together though, yeah?” I turn to face him. “I like Liam.”
Kade nods to agree. “Yeah, he’s family. Glad Dom finally brought him around.” He holds up his phone. “Mom called.”
