“Fuck,” Kade says, looking at me. “What happened?”

Not us. She doesn’t even know we got into it yet, but if she’s already going through something, she won’t want to see our lips and noses bloody. I look at Kade, and we both think the same thing, frantically wiping our faces to hide the evidence of our spat. When Laken hops out of the truck, she storms her ass up the path, barely sparing us a glance.

“Lakes?” I ask, walking down to meet her halfway.

She shoves me so hard I land on my ass.

“Laken?” Kade tries, but Laken throws his hand off her and pushes him back.

She looks at the two of us, her turquoise eyes full of turmoil. When she sees the blood we obviously didn’t manage to hide, she shakes her head and leaves us there like a couple of assholes. The front door slams behind her, and Kade reaches down to offer me a hand up.

“I know it’s not the time, but damn, she’s hot when mad.”

I brush my ass off. “Do we follow or let her cool off?”

Kade rubs the back of his neck. “She might kill us if we don’t give her time to decompress.”

My phone starts ringing on the porch from when we swapped them back, but I don’t bother getting it. As soon as it stops, Kade’s phone starts up. He pulls it from his pocket, ready to shut it up.

“Shit, it’s Wyatt.” We still haven’t told Laken’s dad about our relationship. He answers the call and puts it on speaker. “Hello.”

“You with Lakes?” Wyatt asks, skipping the pleasantries.

“We’re both here,” Kade says. “Laken is inside. She just got home and…she was in a mood.”

“How is she?” Wyatt asks, concerned.

“We don’t know. She came home, knocked us both on our asses, and went inside without saying anything,” I tell him. “What’s going on?”

Wyatt sighs. “Her business page…on Instagram got hacked. She got it shut down, but…fuck, I’m not saying I like this, but if you three were trying to keep your private life private, it didn’t work.”

“What?”

“A bunch of…indecent pictures of you three got leaked. Can you get Hardin to help her?”

“Who did it?” Kade snaps.

“What pictures?” We don’t take fucking pictures while we fuck. I mean, like a time or two, but not during an actual fuck and not with the three of us.

“Go talk to her. She’s devastated. That was her business, and now her reputation is ruined and the rumor mill is running hot.” Wyatt sighs again. “Look, I don’t enjoy the fact that you’re both with my daughter, but I’m not going to get in your way. I can’t be there right now, so you better have her back. Please call me when you know something.”

“We got her, Wyatt,” I promise.

“Call me back and let me know how she is. Thanks, boys.” He grumbles something else before hanging up.

Who the fuck would do this? First my phone and these chicks, and now Laken’s business account?

Chapter 37

Embarrassment doesn’t even begin to cover how I feel. It’s one thing to have something like this happen to me personally, but to have my private life exposed for all my business clients and associates to see…it’s debilitating. I’m an outdoor and wildlife photographer, not a sex model, and especially not a cam girl. My sex life is mine, and it scares me to have it exposed.

And I’m not the only one dealing with this. Kade and Jed have been exposed as well, and they’ll get just as much, if not more, criticism than I will because they’re brothers. Because this happened, they’re targets just as much as I am, and I feel responsible for putting them in this situation.

I managed to get the Instagram account shut down, but that doesn’t mean the photos are gone forever, and it doesn’t help me with whoever put them there. How were photos like that even taken? Full sex shots.

Who would do that to me? To us? It has to be an attack on me or it wouldn’t have happened on my business page, but I can’t even think who would do something like that. And now I have to calm down, put a smile on, and not let this bullshit ruin the night for Hardin and Freya. This is their night to tell the family their big announcement, and I won’t let my drama interfere with that.

The whole drive here, all I wanted was to see Jed and Kade, make sure they were okay, and lean on them for comfort. As soon as I saw the blood on their faces, my patience ran out, my nerves couldn’t take it, and I lashed out in the worst way.
