“More will come!” he croaks the words out. “More dark elves will come! This is not the end!”
His body goes limp in my hands as I savor the taste of his soul. It tastes like salt and burnt starlight.
When I am done, with Serena looking on with a grim smile on her face, the amulet hanging proudly around her neck, I let the dark elf’s body fall to the ground.
His head meets the ground with a thud. In death, his eyes become cloudy, and his skin goes dark. His mouth is slack and open, and he suddenly looks much smaller and more fragile than he ever did while living.
“Is it over?” Serena asks wonderingly, as we stand in the ruins of the tower. Aldris’s body seems to shrink with every passing second.
A loud creaking alerts me to the fact that this building is no longer stable, and I do not answer Serena’s question. Instead, I grab her by the waist and lift her into the air.
The rain has stopped when I step out onto the air, as easily as if I am walking on flat ground. The lightning has faded, and the thunder has subsided.
Serena buries her face in the crook of my neck, and I cannot help but wonder how she finds it comfortable. She certainly did not find the rock bed that I first made for her comfortable.
Now though, she strokes my chest as we travel through the air, towards the little hovel that is surely destroyed now.
I want to tell Serena that it is over now. That she is safe. That she does not have to worry any longer.
But Aldris’s words ring in my head.
More will come!
More will come!
More will come!
The words ring in my head over and over again, and I find myself clutching Serena even closer to me.
I see the edge of the forest then, where the little hovel is situated. I direct my body towards it and decide to think about Aldris’s last words later.
For now, Serena is safe.

SERENA
With the dark elves defeated and Cinis having devoured Aldris’s soul, we make it back to the destroyed remains of the hovel. My heart races still, the air between us holds his confession of love.
I feel my mother’s amulet dangling around my neck, happy that it’s returned to me.
Happy that I can once again touch Cinis.
I turn to him from among the wreckage and step into his space. My heart beats faster as I slide my hand up the solid firmness of his chest.
He looks into my eyes with a hunger that makes the pit of my stomach flutter with anticipation. Despite the damage that surrounds us, the tension between us is wound tightly, the pull of our bodies too much to resist.
Cinis wraps his hand firmly behind my head and leans down to kiss me. Our mouths move together, feeling the overwhelming stress of the past few days melt away.
His other hand slides around my waist and pulls me to him, pressing my body against his growing erection. I let out a moan as his tongue chases mine, the passion of the moment, taking over as I rock my hips into his hardening cock.
“I want to feel you,” he groans, rocking his cock onto me.
“But the hovel-”
“Can be rebuilt. Right now, all I want is this. The heat that is building between us…between your legs, like before.”
“Oh,” I gasp as he picks me up, sliding his fiery arms under my ass to support my weight. I wrap my legs around his waist and feel him pressing into me.
