“So, I am assuming our meeting is all good? You've looked over the contract and wish to buy the club?” My eyes move between the both of them, hands clasped, and index fingers pressed together. He already signed on one dotted line but I changed a few of the terms and needed another signature.
“Yes, I think so. Few little things that I would like to discuss with you, but nothing that will turn us away from this club.”
“I think that calls for a celebration, don't you?” I say, standing and grabbing the crystal decanter full of bourbon.
“Certainly does,” Dex smiles at his whore who stands from her seat.
“I am just going to use the ladies room, you two talk business.”
“Sixth door on your left,” I tell her, wanting to make sure she doesn't try to go snooping.
“Thank you,” she leans down and kisses Dex on the cheek and I don't miss my chance to let my greedy eyes roam over her.
Fuck, I would love to sink my cock in her. Maybe I’ll swipe her next, make Dex work for her. Lips twitch, cock stirs.
“Here we go,” I hand Dex a crystal glass and clink them together.
“To new business,”
“To new business,” Dex repeats just as Sage walks out the door, my eyes on her ass until she disappears.
Definitely getting her next.
CHAPTER SIXTY-FIVE
SAGE
I walked down the narrow corridor towards the sixth door on the left, just like Wolfe said. Looking around the club that is soon to be ours, I get an unnerving feeling in my lower stomach. There is something about Wolfe that I don’t trust. The way his eyes rake up and down my body when I walk into a room. Makes my skin crawl. I am distracted when I open the door on my left and walk into a white clinically clean room. I don’t remember seeing this when we had our tour.
And that’s when I see her.
Laid on a bed, strapped up and restrained.
Bloody and bruised.
My heart sinks in my chest, panic coursing through me as I rush over to her as quickly as I can to make sure she is okay.
“Oh my God Arizona, are you okay?”
I shake her gently, trying to wake her from her sleep.
“Ari, please wake up,” my voice cracks and I am terrified.
She stares, and it takes her a moment to open her eyes and realize that I am standing beside her. She blinks a couple of times, and that’s when I see how bruised her face really is. Both eyes purple and bruising, her nose, swollen and bloody, and her lips are cracked and split and covered in dry blood.
“Sage?”
I brush her hair from her forehead gently, minding not to hurt her at all, she has a Band-Aid on her head, and I’m not sure if that is from now or before she got here.
But I don’t understand why she is here.
Why has nobody come to find her?
Why have we not been told?
It seems she’s been here longer than a few days, and that makes me worry even more.
“Is it really you? Or am I dreaming?”
