My eyes glisten, but I blink away the tears that threaten to present themselves.

“Thank you,” I whisper to him.

“Not a problem.”

Once dinner is finished, Dex and Keaton are up and away from the table settling the bill and me and Sage begin walking to the casino, waiting for them to catch us up.

CHAPTER EIGHTEEN

KEATON

I’m tipsy.

Not afraid to admit it.

Feels good to just be out in good company and enjoy a drink or five. Dex pushes an old fashioned into my hand as we walk from the bar to the Craps table where Ari sits all pretty.

I’m not one for gambling, but when in Vegas, I feel like you have to.

The croupier announces the game is about to start just as I stand behind Ari, my hand slowly slipping round the curve of her hip and I pull her into me.

I know we said we wouldn’t go there again, but with the way I am feeling at the moment, I am ready to break that promise.

“You feeling okay?” my lips are pressed to her ear, my fingertips digging a little deeper through the thin material of her dress and into her skin.

“I am feeling much better,” she turns her face to look at me and I place a soft kiss on her cheek.

“Good,” I admit, lifting the glass to my lips and taking a mouthful of the delicious cocktail that sits in my hand.

We watch as the croupier calls for last bets and a young couple make a bet that if they roll a hard six, they get married tonight in the chapel.

My skin pricks.

Could you imagine… making a bet to get married. I scoff, but then my thoughts wander before I am brought back down to earth with a crash.

The table erupts as the couple throw themselves at each other, lips locked and bodies twisted as one as the hard six sits in the middle of the table.

The croupier laughs softly, shaking his head as he clears the table.

“Fancy a go?” I ask Ari, her eyes widening.

“Of Craps?”

“No, a bet to get married,” I sway against her, the alcohol swims through my veins and I want more.

“Keaton,” she spins to face me, eyes bouncing back and forth.

“Guys…” I hear Dex’s warning tone but I ignore him. The fire in my belly is too much, my eyes are glued to her pretty blue eyes as I wait.

“So, what do you think baby?”

I tease knowing full well she will shoot me down into a ball of flames.

“You’re on,” her gaze steadies and focuses on me and my stomach falls out my ass.

Fuck.

“Wait, what?” I laugh, and it’s nerves. I don’t find this funny at all. But I mean, it could be worse, couldn’t it?
