Then I heard a low tone, almost a whisper, and it knew it must be my sister.

Angry, boiling rage tore through me.

I told Chet to stay away from her. Motherfucker doesn’t realize how serious I am about my sister.

I pounded on the door again.

“Open up!” I ordered. “Ophelia, I know you’re in there!”

“Man, she’s 27,” Chet said in a disgruntled voice, and I put my shoulder to the door. “Can’t she do what she wants?”

“No!” I barked. “Move out of the way!”

I heard Ophelia’s voice then.

“Teddy, you’re such a freaking psycho!”

Yes, I am.

I lowered my shoulder to the door again. My habit for precision served me well. I took a moment to figure out the weakest spot there, then rammed the door again.

It was solidly made, but so am I.

I only felt the sharp pain in my shoulder dimly, but I did it again, hitting the door, and finally felt it buckle under my weight.

With one more blow from my fist, I was inside.

Chapter 10 (Ophelia)

Chet was totally useless to me and also a bad kisser, and that was never more obvious than when my twin came bursting through the door.

Teddy walked directly up to him and grabbed Chet by the throat, slamming his head up against the wall.

Chat made some kind of weak-ass swing at my brother and lord, I didn’t even think I could strategically fuck anyone who was that weak.

“Get out,” Teddy said, and I had never heard that tone of voice from him before.
