I laugh and hold up my hands, my cock still hard as I turn toward the cops. “Nope, you’re not imagining it. But… I think I might’ve given you the adventure you were looking for. And hey, you said you were into people watching.”
She grins wide and tugs her dress back into place. “Yeah, I guess I did, didn’t I.”
The cops step closer, making more demands, but I can’t stop from pulling my peach in for a kiss. They can haul me away and lock me up for public indecency or whatever the hell they want, but no one is taking this moment. This one belongs to us, and despite what’s coming with Outlaw, I know for a fact that the moment Peach and I just created is one we’ll never forget.
Epilogue
Carmen
Three Months Later
“I have a record now, so you better watch yourself,” I laugh, talking to my friend Daisy.
“Mmm… I forgot. Public Indecency. Is your community service over yet or you still doin’ time?” She bites back a grin. “You were supposed to finish before the wedding, right?”
“Yeah.” I smile. “We made sure we got it done as quick as possible. Ruin doesn’t like having to report to anyone.”
“Worth it, though?”
“Oh, hell yeah. We also had an added benefit because I didn’t have to tell Outlaw what happened. The cops told him for me. So… that worked out.” I rub my hand over my stomach. “Plus, we got this little guy out of the deal.”
Her eyes widen. “You’re pregnant?”
“Three months yesterday. Crazy, huh?”
“Yeah. I’m so happy for you, girl.” Her eyes well with tears and she covers her face with her hands.
I spin her back toward me in the salon chair. “What’s wrong?”
She sighs. “My stupid ex keeps coming around and now there’s this bounty hunter asking all these questions. You probably know him. His name is Country or something. What’s with all these guys and these stupid names?”
“I do know Country. He’s a nice guy. What does he want with you?”
“I think my ex did something awful. I don’t know what,” she sighs, “but I’m losing it. Seriously, Carmen, I want what you have. A nice guy, a family, a criminal record.” She laughs through her tears. “Is that so hard?”
I appreciate her dedication to humor.
“You’ll find that.” I squeeze her in close and take off her apron. “With hair like this, how couldn’t you?”
She spins back toward the mirror. “I do look pretty cute, right?”
“Yes! So cute! And if it bugs you that the MC is hanging around, I’ll talk to Ruin and see what he can find out.”
Daisy stands from the chair and sighs. “Thank you. I love you so much. Sorry about the freak out. I’m really happy for you. I’m just exhausted. Between work and all this shit with my ex… it’s too much.”
“Go stay at my old place for a while. I’m not there much anymore since the wedding. We moved into Ruin’s place.”
“You like it?”
“I love it. He carves these little figures and leaves them everywhere. I’ve compiled a farm’s worth of animals on the kitchen counter. I think I’m going to give them to Brody to play with.”
“Brody! You’re naming the baby Brody! I love it!” Her tone turns high pitched and though I know it’s hard for Daisy to hear my happiness now, I feel her genuine love and care.
“Anyway, stay at my place. Nobody will bother you there.”
“You sure? You don’t mind?”
“No! You can stay as long as you want. Hide out. I won’t tell anyone you’re there.”
