I’d broken down a wall without the skills to rebuild it.

I’d just purchased my ticket to Hell.

“Sounds tough. So, what kind of man are you looking for on the show?”

“It’s easier to say what I’m not looking for. Not a lying, cheating, asshole. I’m probably the only woman alive who’s not looking for a bad boy.”

Fuck. Me.

Of course, the camera’s panned my way.

He promises he’s done with one-night stands. She says she’s done with women. She’s loved men before, but has she ever met a man like this bad-boy? And is he man enough to make her fall in love?

You’ll read it here first. This is Danielle Stone from Wake Up Australia.

In a house full of wanna-be celebrities, I’d suddenly become the star, and everyone wanted to be my best friend. All the women wanted to know me and know how I’d not only grabbed the best-looking guy—not that they weren’t totes falling in love with their partner—but also how I’d managed to be the first on-camera kiss.

“You know that’s gonna be on all the teasers,” Georgia moaned. I’d stopped thinking of Georgia as my next best friend after walking in on her and Kenzie talking crap about the crew. I didn’t need that sort of negativity or bitchiness in my life.

“I’m sure they’ll give equal camera time to everyone,” I said, equally sure that being kissed by Kye would be my only time in the spotlight. By tomorrow, I’d be back to being boring, sensible, and invisible.

“The only thing left for the rest of us is to be the first doona dance.”

“What?” I had my suspicions, but surely not?

“You know, we sign the consent forms, grab half a dozen condoms and turn up in post-fuck glow the next morning after dancing under the doona.”

“You’ve only just met—what was his name?”

“As long as I remember to scream it out and wake up the rest of you, who cares? He’s hot and hot for me.”

I had nothing in common with any of the other women, and most of the guys had decided I was even off limits to talk to.

Except for single-mum, Staci’s partner, Sebastian.

After two nights of not sleeping in a strange bed in a place with strange noises, I broke out of my personal jail around two am and padded through the darkened corridors of the Hen Hut.

The glass door to the patio was unlocked, and the camera crew long gone. The sound of the crashing waves drew me down the wooden steps, along the smooth rocks towards the beach.

I’d expected to be alone.

Instead, a lone silhouette sat close to the water’s edge.

“Hey, want some company?” I called out as I got closer. Seb turned, shrugged, and returned to wave watching.

For an hour we sat in comfortable silence. My heart slowing to match the rhythm of the waves.

Alone in my thoughts, left me time and space to think about Kye. My supposed TV boyfriend had spent the last two days positioning him, and us, within the house hierarchy. For him, it was all about the show. I felt more like an inconvenience at his side.

Our kiss had meant nothing, to him.

I meant nothing, to him.
