“To whatever tonight brings, and to all our tomorrows.”

“Smooth.” I tried to joke.

“Don’t blame me for the delivery, I’ve never offered a toast for more than one night.”

“Didn’t we just agree not to talk about other women?”

“Then, please accept my toast with all the humility and awkwardness of a man who’s never made one before.”

“To tonight, and tomorrow,” I agreed, raising my glass.

After silent sips, Kye reached out, taking my hand in his. When I didn’t resist, he led me over to the side table where his phone had been charging.

Slow and seductive blues filled the villa and I started to sway in time.

Kye twirled me out and back into his arms, “Dance.”

“But?”

“Dance.” His eyes twinkled with a statement, not a question. “Dance, dance, dance with me, Elena.”

Not waiting for my answer, Kye gently matched my sway, only now, I was in his arms.

“You don’t look like the man who dances.”

“But I am the man that can dance with you.”

We didn’t do anything complicated, his body rocking against mine for the first song. His left arm around the small of my back. The right one still holding my hand.

The second song started, and our hips found their way to each other. Despite myself, I started to grind against him, feeling the power in his bulge.

By the third song, his hands had cupped my cheeks, holding my face so he could watch my eyes.

“This time, you need to ask for it.”

“Huh?” I’d become lost in the music.

“That first kiss, I’m sorry. In the moment, I couldn’t not kiss you.”

“Why?”

“Because if you’d been cut from the show that first day on the island, I wouldn’t see you again.”

“They would have invited me to the reunion show.”

“Yeah?” he laughed, hugging me tighter. “And the chances of you talking to me then would have been somewhere between Buckley’s and none.”

I shrugged, if I hadn’t gotten the nerve to approach him at the mixer, I’d never have approached him at the reunion.

“The kiss,” he continued. “I needed something for you to remember me by.”

“You could have just asked for my name.”

“I got the girl, didn’t I?”

“For the night.”

“So here we are again, but you need to ask me.”
