“That’s Ryder,” SynTanner said, letting her go. He led the way out of the office.

“Your friend’s name is Ryder?” Blossom questioned.

“Yep.” Downstairs, SynTanner turned and looked at her.

“Listen, I know you’re interested in my work. But the cases I have in my office are all unsolved. I’m technically not even supposed to have them but I was granted the favor. It’ll get me into deep shit if any of my superiors found out you’d read that material. It’s highly classified. However, if you do want to learn more about any of my cases, we can simply talk about it. But letting you read the documents is sort of against the law. You don’t want me in federal prison, do you?”

“Oh no! I promise I’ll keep my big nose out of your office,” she crossed her heart and held her hand up.

“Thanks sweetheart,” he smiled. With that being said, SynTanner opened his front door. Ryder was leaning against the porch railing, wearing dark sunglasses and a leather jacket. Ryder turned around immediately when he heard the front door open.

“Took you long en—well shit!” Ryder whipped off his sunglasses and looked Blossom up and down.

“How do you do? My name is Blaire,” he greeted, holding out his hand. Blossom reached forward to take his hand. When she shook his hand, he turned her hand around and kissed her knuckles.

“I’ll shove my foot so far up your ass you’ll be chewing with my fucking toes,” SynTanner growled, snatching Blossom’s hand away from Ryder.

“And his name is Ryder!”

“But you can call me Blaire,” he insisted to Blossom.

“Only women he plans to seduce does he introduce himself or allow them to call him Blaire,” SynTanner explained.

“So, he must be trying to seduce what’s mine.” Blossom wrapped her arms around SynTanner’s waist, pressing herself against him.

“Well, nice to meet you, Ryder,” she stated clearly. She raised a brow. Ryder smiled at the look on her face. She was clearly making her stance known. No matter what he tried or said, she wasn’t betraying SynTanner. However, she wasn’t as frightening as she thought she was.

‘You were right, SynTanner. She’s the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen. Look how she’s pouting at me,” Ryder laughed.

“Whatever! You talking about me but look at you! 80 damn degrees and you got on a leather jacket!” she snapped. Ryder laughed even harder. Blossom was trying to keep her mean mug but she couldn’t help laughing. She knew Ryder was only messing around with her in the first place. Any friend of SynTanner would probably be honest and loyal.

“Your girlfriend is cutely vicious,” Ryder laughed.

“Keep that in mind when you’re thinking of trying her again. Now come inside.” SynTanner took Blossom back inside, Ryder following them. Ryder shut the door behind him.

“I shouldn’t be gone more than 3 hours,” SynTanner explained as he walked through the house, grabbing his things.

“Blossom, I put my phone number in your back up phone. Call me if you need anything or if you want me to bring you something before, I get back,” he told Blossom,

“Okay,” she mumbled. After putting on his shoes, he grabbed his motorcycle keys from the hook in the kitchen.

“I’ll be back before you know it,” SynTanner said, approaching her. Blossom smiled weakly and nodded. She rose up and kissed her man softly on the mouth.

“Hmm,” he moaned. “I can’t wait to come back for more of that.”

“It’ll be waiting,” she said.

“Ryder, walk out with me!” SynTanner called. Ryder appeared in the kitchen. Both men left out of the side door, going to the garage. Blossom figured they wanted to speak alone, but her curiosity got the better of her, again. She stood next to the door that was left open slightly and listened.

“You don’t know how much I appreciate you coming to look after her for me. she’s been through a lot. I don’t want her to be alone,” SynTanner said.

“I would do anything for you SynTanner. You’ve done any and everything for me,” Ryder replied.

“Someone’s gotta look after you, kid.”

“So, are you admitting finally that we’re basically brothers now?” Ryder laughed.

“Shut up, idiot,” SynTanner chuckled.
