“Will you—can you stay with me?” she whispered.
“They’re gonna want to put you in their squad car. And besides, I rode my motorcycle to follow you,” he replied. She moved away from him slightly as she gazed at him.
“My name may be Blossom, but I’m not too sweet to ride on the back of a motorcycle,” she said. How could SynTanner refuse her after hearing that.
“Alright. You can ride with me,” he smiled. She gasped.
“What? What’s the matter?!” he asked urgently. Blossom shook her head. She placed her hand over her mouth and looked down, as if she was trying to hide her smile.
“Blossom?” he questioned. She hummed and sighed before looking back up at him.
“Your smile. I wonder how many hearts it’s stolen,” she whispered. SynTanner didn’t know how to answer her.
“Come, let’s get you up,” he said instead. He let go of her and helped her to her feet. Before he could turn to walk away, she tugged at his hand. SynTanner turned and looked at her.
“What’s your name, deputy SynTanner?” she asked. His brows furrowed.
“You just said it.”
“I know but—everyone knows you as Deputy SynTanner. I think they all forget you have a first name. I’ve actually never seen it written anywhere. I go by what everyone in town calls you, although now that I’m thinking about it, it’s interesting to know the first name of a man whose last name is SynTanner. So, what is it?” He turned completely and looked at her.
“My last name is Monroe, Blossom,” he stated. She looked at him curiously, her cutely arched brows rising in her forehead.
“Then why do we all call you Deputy SynTanner?” Blossom bit her bottom lip.
“It’s probably because he’s so sinfully sexy,” she muttered to herself.
“What was that?” SynTanner asked.
“Nothing!” She yelped. “So, why do we all call you Deputy SynTanner, if SynTanner isn’t your last name?”
“My name is SynTanner. But it’s S—Y—N. Not S—I—N. Get it?” He smirked. Blossom touched her lips with her fingertips again and nodded.
“I get it,” she squeaked out. The man had just rescued her from a captor, yet the only thing on her mind was the way SynTanner made her heart thump wildly.
