“C-can I... ?” Zach asked as he pushed slightly into Drew, trying to roll them over, maybe.
Drew could only nod, though he wasn’t entirely sure what he was agreeing to. Anything, anything for you, Zach was what he wanted to say. He’d only ever dreamed of feeling this way, this intoxicating mix of love and desire that seemed to fill his chest and ignite every nerve in his body, making it wonderfully impossible for him to breathe normally.
They moved, although it was less than graceful, and the feel of the slightly cool comforter on Drew’s back awakened his senses a bit. Zach hadn’t quite reversed their positions, but something about the way Zach’s naked body was warm against him, a hand splayed out on his chest and a leg hooked over his own, made Drew’s heart feel even fuller.
Drew reached over to stroke Zach’s cheek and then tugged him in for a quick kiss. But it didn’t end up being quick at all. The fire still burning in Drew’s belly and the insistent throbbing of his erection made Drew crave even more—a deeper, more passionate kiss—and he pulled Zach closer to him.
And as their mouths moved together, all heat and silk and magic, Drew felt Zach’s hand start to wander, stopping just when his fingertips dipped just below Drew’s waistband. He heard himself whimper, his hips already drifting, trying to seek out the touch he so urgently needed.
“Please,” he managed against Zach’s lips.
His dick twitched in anticipation as Zach’s hand continued downward and found its target, his warm fingers curling around Drew’s hard shaft. “Oh god, Zach...” Drew cried out, breaking their kiss.
“God, you’re so hard, so smooth,” Zach said almost breathlessly as he made long strokes up and down Drew’s shaft.
Zach paused his strokes to circle his thumb over the crown of Drew’s dick, slick with precum. Drew felt himself jerk in Zach’s grasp, instinctively pumping his hips slightly as Zach resumed his stroking. “I’m gonna... I’m not gonna last... Ahh... good... fuck, so good...”
There was tingling and throbbing deep within his balls, and his heart pounded as he pressed his head back into the pillows.
“Come for me. Come for me, baby,” Zach murmured, his lips wet against Drew’s neck.
And then there was a powerful explosion of light and heat and every nerve ending in his body coming alive as his dick pulsed with his release again and again and again. It seemed like forever but no time at all, and the next thing he knew, all his muscles were weak and trembling as his mind slowly swam back into focus and he tried to breathe.
Zach’s lips were still on Drew’s neck, and he could feel Zach smiling against his skin. “That didn’t quite go to plan, but god, you’re so fucking sexy.”
Drew could barely manage to huff out a laugh as he fought to open his eyes. He felt Zach press another kiss to his neck before shifting to look at Drew. “What was the plan?” Drew asked breathlessly.
“Well, I’m not actually sure, but I think I’d meant to get those pants off before, uh...”
They both laughed, an airy laugh that made Drew feel so alive and free. He couldn’t even remember the last time he’d laughed like that. As he pulled Zach in for a deep, languid kiss, Drew marveled at the way his heart felt so full and so light, so full of love he was afraid it would overflow.
Chapter Twelve
Zach
Zach marveled at how relaxed and comfortable and safe he felt, lying there in Drew’s arms, tucked into the crook of his shoulder like the spot had been made just for him. After they’d gotten cleaned up and decided just boxer briefs was enough clothing for the rest of the night, they’d had a quick snack from their leftovers and then crawled back into bed with the intent of trying to actually pick a movie this time.
But all Zach wanted to do was hold Drew, be in his arms with his leg slung over Drew’s leg and his fingers drawing lazy patterns on Drew’s chest. It seemed like Drew was pretty content with this plan too. With his ear against Drew’s chest, Zach could hear Drew’s heartbeat, and maybe he was just being fanciful or couldn’t really hear his own rhythm so well, but it sounded like, felt like their hearts were beating in unison.
Fanciful. Surely, it was just fanciful. But god, he couldn’t explain why or how he felt so close, so connected, so one with Drew. It didn’t make sense, but he was insanely grateful for it, whatever magical force this was.
“What are you thinking about?” Drew asked softly, his fingers caressing Zach’s forearm and trailing farther up to his bicep.
Zach buried his grin in Drew’s chest, shaking his head slightly.
Drew chuckled lightly and turned his head toward Zach, hooking a finger under his chin and encouraging him to tilt his head up. Those gorgeous eyes looked at Zach with such joyfulness and affection he was pretty sure his heart stuttered. “I wanna know,” Drew murmured.
Zach grinned again, sure that his cheeks were pinking up, and he let out a small huff of laughter against Drew’s chest. “I was thinking about how our hearts seem to be beating as one but oh my god that’s so corny and you’re totally going to laugh at me.”
Drew’s chuckle this time was louder, his chest jostling under Zach’s cheek, and the sound and motion somehow reverberated and ping-ponged wonderfully around inside Zach’s chest.
“See?” Zach said, glancing up with a playful pout but tightening his embrace around Drew. “Laughing.”
“Do I lose points for laughing?” Drew teased, his hand coming back up to Zach’s face, his fingers drawing lightly over Zach’s cheek and stubbled jaw.
Zach gave a breathy chuckle, his heart racing at Drew’s touch. “Hmm, maybe?”
“Can I earn them back?”
