Page 52 of Sebastian's Secret
Heart pounding, he slid the key into the door and slipped into the house, closing it behind him. Senses heightened, he listened for signs that Rebecca was moving in the house, but as he walked quietly down the hall he realized there was no movement. He couldn’t hear her in the bathroom, nor the lounge where he’d enjoyed her last night.
Brow furrowing, Sebastian edged toward the bedroom. Rebecca had to be there, surely? She wouldn’t have just upped and left without letting him know. Reaching into his pocket for his phone, which he’d collected with his car, his pulse raced as he noticed a new message from her.
Shit. He swallowed, attempting to calm his fraying nerves. What if she’d given up waiting for him and left? What if last night meant nothing to her?
Clicking into the message, his heart nearly stopped as he consumed her words.
Good morning. I’m awake!
Glancing around, he strained his ears again. If she was awake, then why couldn’t he hear her? Moving closer to his bedroom, he finally picked up on the tell-tale sounds of another person from beyond the door, the creek of the bed as she moved on it, and then… something else. If he wasn’t mistaken, a sensual mewl that sent fire to his blood.
Blowing out a breath, he read her final line as he reached for the door handle.
Hurry home, sir.
Sebastian had good news for Rebecca. He was home, but the rhythmic whimpers coming from his bedroom told him that she might be embroiled in rather more than only sleep.
“Oh, Sebastian.”
His heart sped up at the sound of his name, her hectic whimper ratcheting up his adrenaline. If his intuition was right, then beyond his door, he would find Rebecca writhing under gratification at her own hand.
Naughty girl…
Smirking, he turned the handle and pushed the door open and there, spread out on his sheets was the woman who had been on his mind all morning.
“Good morning.” He arched an eyebrow at her flushed expression, his balls contracting at the scent of her sex in the air.
“Oh, God!” Gasping, she forced herself upright. “Sebastian!” Heaving in exaggerated breaths, her dazzling blue eyes widened as the hand between her legs drew slowly to her thigh.
“Need I ask what you’re doing?” His tone was firm, but he wondered if she could tell how much he was enjoying himself. It wasn’t often that he walked into his bedroom to find such a wonderful woman tangled in his bedding. He was giddy at the thought, let alone the reality.
“I…” Her voice trailed into silence, her gaze flitting around the room as though the answers to her problems could be found on the ceiling.
“Sorry?” Closing the door with his foot, he moved toward the bed. “I can’t hear you, gorgeous.”
“Sorry.” She forced the word out somehow, although Sebastian could tell how difficult it had been for her. “I didn’t mean to offend you.”
“Offend me?” He tilted his head at her explanation. When had he inferred any offense? “I’m not insulted, little girl, far from it—you look incredible—but I was certain that only last night you agreed that I owned your pleasure…” He paused, allowing the thought to linger between them. “Did I hallucinate that part of the evening, or do you recall it as well?”
“Erm…” Rebecca’s sheepish expression was adorable, as was the way she fidgeted on the bed, tugging the sheets up to her middle.
“Well?” Slipping his phone onto the bedside counter, Sebastian placed his hands on his hips.
“No, sir.”
She blew out a breath, her shoulders falling, but he noticed how her nipples budded at the subtle shift between them. Her use of his title was only a tiny gesture of deference, but it indicated her willingness to cede, an understanding that she knew the line she’d overstepped and—unless he was way off with his assumption—that she skipped over it knowing full well what the consequences would be.
“No?” His voice remained curt.
“No, you didn’t hallucinate it,” she admitted quietly.
“So, you understood the rule, but you decided to break it anyway?” He concluded out loud.
“It wasn’t a rule,” she countered, craning her neck to meet his gaze as he towered over her at the side of the bed. “I didn’t think you really meant it.”
“You didn’t think I meant it?” Sebastian chuckled at her limp attempt at justification.
“No.” Her cheeks burned crimson as she struggled for words. “I thought it was only something you said to heighten my climax.” She gulped. “And it worked, sir.”
