“Thank you,” Gia says softly to Abby, “You’ve all been so nice to me. I can’t believe it.”

Abby wraps Gia in a hug, “Get used to it, sweetie. We’re a loud bunch, but we’d do anything for family, and as you’re Navy’s, that makes you ours.”

Letting go of Gia, Abby smiles at her before walking away calling over her shoulder, “Enjoy your ride and we’ll see you in a week.”

I’d known the women would take Gia under their wings as soon as they got to know her. Turning her gently around so her back was to me I split her hair in three and quickly braided it before tying it up at the end.

“You did that quick,” Gia remarked in surprise.

“I’ve got lots of nieces, sweets, and they aren’t patient about waiting, so when they want their hair plaited, they want it done now. All of us had to learn.”

Reaper lets out the whistle he uses that means he’s ready to roll. Getting on my bike, I hold out my hand for Gia, we’d ride as far as we could with the MC. Skinny was going to meet us halfway with the paperwork he’d got for us showing that we’d been married over a year. From there, it would just be us, Bas and Hope, going on to Somerset.

Not sure what excuse we would use for me being away for nearly a year, but we’d wing it and see. Unless Skinny had made something up, which was a possibility, he was imaginative like that.

It was slow going getting out of London and I didn’t relax until we were on the motorway and could finally spread out a little. It made me glad that I didn’t live in the city. Open roads and trees were where I was happiest.

I couldn’t wait to get Gia home to Crow Manor. I was still in one of the cottages, so we’d at least have some privacy. I was hoping that once her situation was sorted out that she’d want to stay. I know she said she did but that was now when everything was up in the air. We’d see where she stood once everything was settled.

For now, it was enough that she was wrapped around me on the back of my bike.

CHAPTER 8

GIA

The freeing feeling of being on the back of a bike wasn’t something that could be explained. I’d forgotten how much I enjoyed it. Although riding behind your brother was much different to holding onto the man that had, in all sense of the word, saved you.

It made me wonder if these feelings that were tumbling through me were from gratefulness or were they because I found the man stupidly sexy, and I’d like nothing better than for him to rid me of my virginity. I had a feeling he’d do it right and from the hardness that I’d felt when I’d been sat on his lap at breakfast, it wouldn’t be hard to persuade him that I wanted him in every way.

We’d met up with another MC brother called Skinny and his Old Lady at one of the services. He’d given Navy a folder and assured him it would all pass scrutiny.

I’d liked him and his lady immediately. They were probably in their early thirties, I’d say, with a quiet strength about them. They’d both embraced me and made me feel welcome.

I’d never met people like these, where they were willing to do just about anything to help. I didn’t know what I’d done to deserve them, but I was so grateful for everything they were doing for me.

We waved goodbye to everyone as they left us at the services. I knew we’d be seeing them again next weekend.

“What do you want to do, sweets? You want to carry on riding or do you want to go in the car with Bas and Hope?” Navy asked.

“I’ll stay with you if that’s okay.”

Navy grinned at me, “Fuck, sweets, having you wrapped around me is more than okay. But if you get tired, let me know and we’ll stop. Just tap me on my shoulder and I’ll pull over.”

“Okay,” I agree, taking my helmet from him and pulling it back on my head. Navy brushed my hands away from my chin and buckled me up. Taking my courage in my hands, I did what I’d never done before and asked a man to kiss me.

“Kiss me. Kiss me like you did last night but not because you have to but because you want to,” I requested, staring up into his eyes that widened in surprise at my request and then he smiled so wide the sides of his eyes crinkled.

“With pleasure, sweets,” Navy rumbled, pulling me gently towards him and tilting my head to the side. I should probably have waited to put my helmet on, but we managed.

A soft sigh left me as his lips met mine in a soft kiss, parting my lips to invite him to deepen the kiss. Navy took the invite, drawing me closer until there wasn’t a space between us, tongues twining and stroking, his lips firm against my soft ones; I could have stayed like this forever. It was the second-best kiss of my life other than the one he’d laid on me last night. Sadly, life intruded when Hope hit the hooter on their car, telling us to hurry up. Not that Navy listened to her other than to stop kissing me. He still held me to him resting his forehead against mine.

‘Bloody helmet getting in the way again.’

“Fuck, sweets, I think you may be the death of me. Now I’ve got to ride while rock hard,” he grumbled.

Snickering at his predicament. Running my tongue over my lips, I looked up at him through my lashes and huskily suggested, “Well, then let’s get going and maybe I can help you with that this evening.”

“Jesus, baby, you can’t tease about things like that.”
