He shrugged one shoulder. “I’m not joking.”

“Are you sure you want to do this?”

“Road trip with a pretty girl to the honeymoon capital of the world?”

“I thought that was Niagara Falls or Hawaii?”

“Close enough. I hear they have heart-shaped tubs in the hotel rooms.”

“They’ve got those here too. The Commack Motor Inn is especially eclectic.”

He made a face. “How do you even know about that?”

“I was doing a story on prostitution and one of the ladies showed me around. How do you know about it?”

“Because I went to high school here.”

“Let me guess, prom night?”

He flashed her a sheepish grin. “I didn’t have a backseat back then.”

“I feel special.”

“I told you: you are special.” He tugged her back into his arms and distracted her with more kisses. Ashley would much rather spend the rest of the night testing the shocks on her bed frame with him than having dinner with her parents, but she had been stalling them long enough.

“Where do you take your women nowadays? That VIP lounge?”

Josh tangled his fingers in her hair. “Sometimes. You want to party there, let me know. But it’s not very private. I’ve got an apartment nearby. There aren’t mirrors on the ceiling or leopard-print blankets, like the Commack Motor Inn, but I do all right.”

“Don’t sell yourself short. You do more than all right. Next time I’ll have to show up on your doorstep. Do you have a roommate?”

He shook his head. “Nope. No one to hear you scream my name.”

“Tempting,” she said, trailing her fingers over his large bicep. “Can I come over for a booty call when my roommate is here?”

“Works for me. What time are we leaving in the morning? I’ll run home quick and pack. And I’ll pick up another three-pack.”

“Nine,” she said. Her phone buzzed an alarm. “Shit.” Ashley fumbled to the other side of the bed to grab it. They had knocked it off the table during their antics. She was sprawled across Josh, who took the opportunity to smack her butt a few times.

“Hey!” She wiggled it as she turned off the phone. It made her want to straddle him and ride him while he paddled her. “We don’t have time for this. I’ve got to get to my parents’ house.”

He tossed her on her back. “Okay, but first I want to make you come again.” He kissed down to her belly button before she came to her senses and yanked him up by the hair.

“I’m going to be late for dinner as it is.”

“I can drive you over on my bike. I can break a few speed limits.”

Tempting. Oh so tempting.

“Then I’ll pick you up afterwards and we can leave together in the morning.”

“You’d give my father another heart attack.” She pulled him up by the hair to her face and kissed him. “I’ve got to get into the shower. The door will lock behind you.”

She walked into the bathroom and took in her wild grin in the mirror. He was such a mistake, but so worth it. Stepping under the hot spray of the shower, she heard the door open and a few seconds later, Josh pushed the curtain aside.

“I figured that since you’re in a hurry, I would help.” He took the soap out of her hands and rubbed a thick lather all over her, tweaking her nipples a few times.

She licked the water droplets off his chest as she stroked him to hardness. “You’re high-maintenance. You know that?” she said.

“Me?” He grinned. “I don’t think anyone has ever accused me of that.”

“You’re too used to getting your own way.” She sighed as he massaged the soap all over the sore muscles in her neck and back. Moving had strained them a bit and the bedroom gymnastics they’d just shared had really overstretched them.

“I just can’t get enough of you,” he said.

“Josh,” she murmured, holding on to him as he caressed her naked body.

“Yeah, baby?”

“Get the economy box of condoms for the trip.”
