“Do we know for sure he killed Sarah too?” Warden asked.
“It’s possible.” Sentinel glared down at his hands. He was imagining them wrapped around Stan’s neck. “Probably. Goddamn Stan and his dick. The guy they held prisoner is out for blood, and he’s not going to stop.”
“Can you blame him?” Evil asked.
“He waited, though,” Ryder said. “Until the wives were pregnant before killing them. Why? Or better yet, why not kill the men who did it to him?” Ryder flung up her hands.
“He wanted them to suffer? He’s crazier than a shithouse rat? He was going to get around to it?” Sentinel didn’t have any answers.
“Well, based on the information you got from Beverly and the laptop you stole from Reynolds, I can get an identity for you. It might take a bit, though.”
“To crack the laptop’s security? You’re slipping,” Warden said.
Ryder scoffed. “That was the easy part. It’s going through Reynolds’s employee records and finding out which guy they used for date night.”
“What do we do about Stan?” Evil asked.
They all turned to Sentinel. He closed his eyes. Shit. “Can’t risk offing him yet. He might not have killed Sarah, but he raped the man who did. He’s got to pay. But there’s a chance the vigilante will go after him. If he does, let him kill Stan. Then we’ll take care of the vigilante. When this news hits, Stan will probably freak out. Let him live in fear while we take care of this mess.”
“What if he goes into hiding?” Warden asked.
“I won’t lose him this time,” Ryder said. “I’ve got tracking devices all over him and his stuff.”
Sentinel’s phone buzzed and he looked at it. It was a text from Ashley.
Come pick me up on your bike. I’m staying over your house tonight.
“What are you smiling about?” Warden asked.
“I gotta go pick up Ashley.” He got up and slung on his vest.
“You can back off her anytime,” Warden said. “The jobs are done.”
Sentinel shrugged. “We’re going to see what happens.”
“What the hell does that mean?” Evil asked.
“It means we’re dating.” He crossed his arms in front of his chest and waited for the harassment to begin.
“Do you think that’s a good idea?” Evil asked. “She’s a reporter and she is as tenacious as Munson is. Can you afford to let her in?”
“I’m not sure I can afford not to.”
Evil nodded. “It’s your call.”
“So when do we get to meet her?” Warden said.
“You’ve all met her.”
“I haven’t,” he said.
“Fine, I’ll bring her around the bar.” Sentinel headed for the door.
“Lunch,” Warden said. “Tomorrow.”

Ashley waited by the door while Tasha looked up at her and laughed.
