“Yeah, I damn well do. And I see where they’re heading. They’re going to get killed if they keep this up. Their luck is bound to run out. Someone other than me will be gunning for them sooner rather than later.”
“Why do you care?” she asked, getting to her feet. She didn’t have to stay here and listen to this shit.
“I don’t,” Munson said, but his eyes shifted and she knew he was lying.
“I’ll look into the killings and see if I can string them together like I did with the other three murders. If I find something interesting, I’ll put it on the air. In the meantime, leave the SOBs alone. Leave Ryder alone.” Ashley threw the last sentence out to see if she could get a reaction.
Munson’s jaw clenched and his eyes narrowed. “She needs to leave me alone.”
Gotcha.
“I’ll be in touch, Detective.” Ashley turned and walked out of the building.
