Cole leaned in close to Amy’s ear, holding her tight to his chest and whispered, “Now kiss him.”

Amy stiffened. “What?”

“It’s okay, little one. If you want to kiss him, then do it. We are both yours.”

Amy’s body began to tremble in his arms, but he held still, waiting to see what she would do. He straightened, meeting his brother's eyes over Amy’s head. He gave him a small nod and Cane stepped closer to her, gently placing a hand on her cheek.

“But…” Amy tried to speak, her word nothing more than a breathless whisper.

“It’s alright, Sila.”

She pulled in a ragged breath but rose on her toes. Cane lowered his head to meet her and pressed a hard, desperate kiss to her lips.

Instantly he felt the warmth spread through him from what his brother felt. It was unlike anything he had ever experienced before. He still held Amy close to his chest and watched with stunned fascination at his brother kissing their small, delicate female. The sight was so arousing, so erotic that he had to close his eyes for fear of scaring her with his need.

When Amy pulled back, he glanced over at Cane and smiled.

His brother was having the same issue with his desire as Cole was.

He bent lower to speak quietly to Amy, “Do you understand now?” he asked.

She shook her head, “How? How can I want you both? How can you two be okay with that? How can this feel so right?”

He chuckled, moving Amy to sit back down on the bench. Cane sat down on her right side and Cole took her left.

“Arusian males mate for life. When the perfect female is found, a mark will appear on her wrist, as it will on the males,” He lifted his wrist to show her the mark. Cane did the same and she gently ran a finger over both marks.

“We call it the bloodline mark. It shows that the male’s bloodline will continue with that female. There is only one female for every male.”

“Then why do you both have the same mark?”

“Because we were born as one. Cane and I were twins that came from one egg, joined in body and mind. We were warned that we would never find a female, because we would need to have only one between the two of us.”

“You two were conjoined twins?”

“Yes. That is why we have synthetics on one side of our body.”

She glanced between them, before she reached out and pulled both their mechanical arms to her lap. She held onto their hands in a tight grip.

“Is that why Iron wanted to see my wrists? To see if I had the same mark as you two do?”

“Yes, but we cannot see yours. You have other markings on your skin that hide our mark.”

“But…” She paused, turning to look at Cane. “Why were you so angry with me if we are all meant to be together?”

Cane frowned, “No, Amy, I was never angry with you. Forgive me if I made you believe that. I was angry with myself.”

“Why? Don't you want this?”

His eyes went wide, “More than I have wanted anything else in my life. You have given us hope. Saved us from the madness and gave us a chance to live. I was angry with myself because I wasn’t sure if what happened in the cave...”

Cole could feel the uncertainty flowing off Cane as his words faded.

“Tell me Cane. Please. I need to understand,” Amy pushed.

“He feared he had forced himself on you, Amy,” Cole said when his brother found no words to continue. “Our kind can get lost in madness if we are left without our mate for too long. Cane and I have had trouble with our minds recently, and we feared that we were just seeing what we wanted to see. That is why I brought Iron with me. He would have seen the truth and kept you safe if we were lost.”

She turned to face Cane. “No, Cane. I wanted every moment we shared in the cave. I never act like that, but I feel so drawn to you… to both of you, and I was sure you were angry with me for having feelings for Cole after I kissed you.”
