I let him wade across and smile to myself. All of the other lawyers before him were arrogant assholes. If they could, they would grab our land from us and leave us with nothing but the clothes on our backs.

When news of another negotiator reached me, I went scorched earth, which was why I greeted him with zero politeness and a hundred percent fury.

Big mistake.

Who would have thought he was like this?

I shimmy out of my dress, leaving me in my bikini, and leap after him. I break the surface beside Oliver, shaking my head and sending droplets of water flying to him.

He laughs and swims closer to me, pushing my wet hair out of my face. With his hand cupping my jaw, he kisses me slowly and tenderly, molding his lips to mine.

Just like that, I melt into him and feel the familiar tingle of excitement and anticipation running through me.

When he breaks the kiss, he rests his forehead on mine. “I understand why you don’t want tourists to spoil this place. I’d be angry too if someone tried destroying it.”

I lean back to look at him. “The locals don’t have problems with a few tourists, but thousands a month? We can’t handle it. We’re peaceful people. That much chaos would drive us crazy.”

“I know. Don’t worry about it. I’ll talk to my brother.”

“You have a plan?”

“I do. He already has a huge chunk of land. He can still build his resort, just not as expansive as he initially hoped.”

“That’s good actually. Just enough to help with the local economy, but not too much that they leave destruction in their wake.”

“I understand that. I saw how ‘progression’ destroys islands and nature.” He hooks a finger under my chin. “I won’t renege on my promise to you.”

“Damn right. I still have 100 other ways, remember?” I splash him and cast a mischievous glance over my shoulder. “Let’s go to the other side.”

We swim to the far side, where the water is not as deep and the rocks form a natural ledge. We can stand comfortably on the shallow end, and the water is only waist-deep for me. Some of the rocks higher up enclose us, creating some sort of amphitheater.

“It’s beautiful, isn’t it?” I say as I lift my head to gaze overhead. Years of living here and it still takes my breath away.

“Very beautiful.”

I look at Oliver, but he’s staring at me instead, naked hunger flaring in his eyes. My body responds instantaneously, wetness blooming between my thighs.

For the past few days, whatever initial attraction I had toward him has only intensified. I’m setting myself up for a possible heartbreak since I find myself getting more attached to someone who can leave any minute.

But whatever.

I’ve never felt this way, either, so go big or go home, right?

Oliver pounces on me, and we become a tangle of limbs. We can’t get enough of each other, and I want to feel him everywhere and have him hit the spot that makes my toes curl.

He lifts me and wraps my legs around his waist before he unties my top, leaving the small fabric hanging uselessly on my chest. I should feel conscious of how small my boobs are, but I don’t. The way he’s panting, pupils blown wide, is more than enough to tamp all the insecurities threatening to bubble to the surface.

“Perfect.” His voice is low and gravelly, making goosebumps rise on my skin.

Oliver lowers his mouth, but instead of kissing me, he sucks the skin on my collarbone, shooting zaps of pleasure through me. It’s going to leave a mark that will take days to fade. He knows what he’s doing, as though he’s trying to brand me.

God, yes.

With one hand, he tugs his shorts down and grabs his massive cock, sliding it along my pussy, with nothing but my bikini bottom between us.

I want it so badly that I squirm in his arms, making him chuckle darkly. “You want this, Oli?”

“Y-yes.”
