I squeezed my eyes shut, hating myself for putting him in this position.
Officer Keres continued. “His notes say he’s given even his fertility to the demons he summons.”
Saffron and Ashe both winced.
I clenched my fists, remembering my helplessness when Professor Garnet exposed my secrets in this very dome when I first arrived. A sense of wrongness settled into my bones.
If Officer Keres noticed any of our reactions, he didn’t show it. “Although your current physical state is hard to miss, he’s the only one here clearly not interested.”
Sweat trickled down my neck in delicate drops. I looked past my hard nipples to my thighs, carefully folded together and pulsing. I’d let out a soft moan, making my last bead of power. Just the memory of it left me panting.
I snapped my gaze to Officer Keres, unwilling to look at Tanwyn. “That’s rape. And I won’t be a part of it.”
Officer Keres narrowed his eyes. “It’s a hard-on. Aphrodite. Men get them often when we don’t want them, and neither of you will act on it. It’s a state of mind test.”
I shook my head. “It’s too far.”
Officer Keres’ face turned red. “Filling me with your magic and forcing my actions was fine, but giving a fellow student a brief hard-on crosses your line?”
“Ah, yeah,” I narrowed my eyes. “You were enabling your officers to hurt others. Tanwyn’s done nothing but be nice to me.”
Officer Keres’ jaw ticked, but to my surprise, he took a few deep breaths and uncrossed his arms. “Fine, do I have a volunteer?”
Saffron and Ashe immediately thrust their hands into the air.
Beryl winked at me. “I’d volunteer, but I’m already hard.”
I blushed, studying the runes on the floor again.
“You’ve already shown you can make two identical beads simultaneously,” Officer Keres said. “Do both men.”
My eyes bugged, and I clenched my thighs. Beryl’s laughter bounced around the concrete dome.
Officer Keres ignored us. “Make your command specific and short. Only give them a physical reaction with no emotions. This will tell us if the magics are separate or not.”
I took a calming breath. “Sure.” I swallowed as a wave of lust distracted me. “But emotion and physical magic feel the same.”
“We need to know how your magic affects others,” Officer Keres said as if he’d already told me that. “Making yourself feel something is never bad, Aphrodite. Only if you force those same emotions into someone else do you cross the line.”
I decided not to comment on how many lines we now crossed in Metaphysics each day. Instead, I brought up my hands and focused. A Bead of Will grew between my thumb and pointer finger in each hand. I stood and froze, unsure who to put my magic in first.
Officer Keres tapped his toes. “Toss them both at the same time.”
I looked at him. “Ahhh…”
“Now, Aphrodite,” Officer Keres barked.
I tried to aim at both Ashe and Saffron simultaneously, but they were on opposite sides of me. Wobbling slightly, I steadied myself before tossing my magic. The one in my right hand flew toward Ashe, but the one in my left wasn’t even close. It arched oddly, the bead itself spinning end over end until it hit Tanwyn’s knee and sunk into his magic.
My heart stopped.
I’d just fought to keep Tanwyn out of this.
I expected to see anger in his eyes. Instead, he bit his bottom lip and spread his uniform-covered legs. A visible bulge tented his pants. He gave me a reassuring smile.
“It’s fine. Thanks for standing up for men’s rights, but it’s not a big deal.” Tanwyn rubbed his chest before looking darkly at Officer Keres. “My dick belongs to me.” He turned to me again and smiled. “And the right person hasn’t noticed my interest yet.”
I glanced behind me, trying to see who he was talking about.
