Page 66 of Beautiful Unity
After several more hugs, we made our way to our bikes. It was bittersweet to say goodbye, but it wouldn’t be for long. Lennox and her guys were my family, too.
“You have a good time?” Brooks asked, taking my hand.
“The best.” I smiled, turning to take in the others. “I’m feeling kind of wired. How do you guys feel about riding for a few hours? We could stop in Nashville and spend a day there before heading home?”
“We’ll go wherever you go, Queen.”
Warmth and love filled me. This life I got to lead was more amazing than I’d ever anticipated—full of love, friendship, and unity above all else. The copious amount of sex was also a bonus. A girl could never have too many popsicles to lick.
Climbing on my bike, I strapped on my helmet and started my engine. I glanced back at the four men who owned my heart and knew there was nothing more beautiful than this.
Diary #20
Dear Mom,
It’s been one year since my last letter. I hadn’t even realized that much time had passed until I stumbled upon my journal and saw the date. So much has changed this year.
After returning to Kentucky, we took time to be in a relationship with one another. I went on dates with all my guys, but we also did all the domestic stuff. We took turns cooking dinner and making chore charts that never lasted until we finally found a method that worked for all of us. There were some hard conversations, and it wasn’t all sunflowers and rainbows—though there were a lot of those, too.
Grayson got to propose in the way he wanted. Which turned out to be more of a porn fantasy than a proposal, but since he added a hundred sunflowers around the shop, I let it slide. We got married on New Year’s Eve, wanting to always have a reason to throw a huge party for our anniversary. That and the day off. I couldn’t argue with the logic.
We’ve been married for nine months now, and I can honestly say I’ve never been happier. Life with my four guys is chaotic and messy but ultimately beautiful.
Oh! The house. I can’t wait to tell you about this. We’re building our dream home across from Lennox! I’ll be able to shout across the street at her whenever I want! How cool is that? I really want the guys to build us an underground tunnel, but no one has jumped on that idea so far.
Becca will move in with us once it’s done. Now that Maddox’s dad is behind bars and all the shit with Agonizer is over, it’s safe for her to come out of hiding. It was a no-brainer for me that she came to live with us. The other guys felt the same way. When we told Maddox, it was the first time I ever saw him cry. He’s going to be such a great dad. He loves with all of his heart.
So, let’s see…. Ah, right. Lennox and I had a long heart-to-heart when she returned, and we shared what we’d like to do with our lives. The thing we’d do if there were no obstacles in the way. For Lennox, it was easy. For me, not so much. Because the one thing I’d always thought I’d do was be part of the Mavericks, but that didn’t suit me anymore. But once I thought about what I loved to do, I knew it was the right call.
With the help of Grayson, Brooks, and Bubba, I started a non-profit! It’s kind of a smorgasbord of things. But my mission statement is to help other women find their footing. Those years I was on the run and in hiding, it was the kindness of others that saved me. So, each day is a different thing. I hold dance classes, self-defense, and a reclaiming your sexual power class to help women find their confidence. I also help them prepare for job interviews, understand fashion, and how to budget. With my MCD connections, I can even help those who need to hide to escape. It’s the most fulfilling thing I’ve ever done.
Maddox helps with the training and opened a gym next to the mechanic shop. Grayson and Simon both volunteer their time to help women feel good about themselves physically, from understanding how to start a good moisturizing routine to new hairstyles. They even launched their own hair care products together. Slade still gives Grayson the stink eye, but I think it’s more out of love now than hate—at least, I hope.
Do you remember Candi? She was my friend who got me into cam-girling. When I told her about my non-profit, her husband was my first investor. Now, she works with me, helping women learn how to dress and find their sexual confidence. It’s been amazing to work with her again, and I love how much she’s blossomed in her relationship. She even has two kids now! We’re thinking of expanding. I can’t believe this is my life.
Through Tattooed Hearts, JB Mechanics, and Battle Royal Gym, the women have options for jobs to assist them to get back on their feet and have something to put on their resumes.
Dad said I started my own version of MCD…and in a way, he’s right. Live Like A Queen is my true legacy. It feels good to help and see other women find their inner queen.
I know you would be proud of me, and knowing that has healed the last of my anger.
Dad has come to visit a couple of times now. He’s doing better, and now that he’s not under Stanley’s thumb, he’s thriving. I’m glad we’ll get to have a better relationship and that it wasn’t stolen from us too soon.
Speaking of Stanley! He and Chase were charged with so many things. Dad had years of evidence, plus all the stuff we uncovered that fateful night. Add in how once they were arrested and in custody, all the people came out of the woodwork.
Chase had countless rape charges, and come to find out, that night he’d shown up at my apartment wounded was after he’d killed a man who’d walked in on him fucking the dude’s wife. He had a warrant out for his arrest in Tennessee because of it. The shit with Stanley went back further, and it was iron-clad.
We’ll never see either of the Driscolls again. Thank Gucci!
Agent Bones was fired and charged as well. He’s serving time in a federal prison. I’ll sometimes send him and Stanley care packages full of things that are phallic in nature. Beef jerky, push pops, lipstick… just so they never forgot what I’d taken. It was to my great delight, and I giggled every time I sent a box.
There’s only one more thing to tell you… I’m going to be a mom.
I haven’t told the guys yet; I’m telling them tonight. It’s probably why I found the journal. It’s something a girl needs to tell her mother first. If it’s a girl, I want to name her after you. But if it’s a boy, I have no clue! I’m really hoping it’s a girl, not only because I have a name, but so I won’t be outnumbered anymore.
Though, we do have a chicken and a cat now. Thane took over the vet clinic in town, so any animal that needs a home finds its way to ours. Soon, Lennox and I will have a farm full! I can’t wait.
I’ll try to be better about writing. I don’t want to stop just because things are going good. Those are important things for you to know, too. But I’m the most grateful for the times you were there for me when they weren’t the greatest.
I know you can’t really read these, but having a place to talk to you, even if only for my benefit, saved me. I would have never survived Music City without my diary.
I love you, Mom.
Darcie
