“Kegel? What’s that?” Then just as quickly, “Never mind. I’ll Google it.”

I head into the bedroom to collect her other things. When I return, she’s looking in the mirror in pants and nothing else. It’s hot.

“I might make this your unofficial uniform when we’re alone during work hours,” I say, bending down to give one nipple a long lick.

“Hey!” She swats my head. “Give me those.” She takes her bra, shirt, and vest.

I lean against the doorway as she dresses.

“I could watch this all day,” I tell her.

She shakes her head. “Is this how we’ll spend every lunch break?”

“Don’t tempt me.” In truth, I’ve ignored several phone buzzes. They’ll have to assume I’m in a meeting.

When she’s presentable, clothed, and her fingers run through her hair, we head to the bedroom and shut down the beach.

“I do love it in here,” she says.

“It’s a dream suite.”

We hold hands as we leave through the door and enter the small private cloud room. The secret stairs are too narrow to walk side-by-side, and when we arrive in the janitor’s closet, I pull her close for one more long, slow kiss.

“You go out first. I’ll give you a head start.”

She nods. “See you later.”

I wait as she slips out of the closet and closes the door. I turn to examine the fake boxes of Kleenex, cleaners, and the trick bucket.

Probably I shouldn’t indulge myself like this while I’m working.

But Mila is irresistible.

And on a day like today, when everyone is skulking around about Maverick like I don’t know what they’re saying, I needed the break.

Now I have to go out there and face my day job.

MILA

When I return to HR, Jessie, Suze, and Emily are talking near Jessie’s office. They pay no attention to me, so I sit before the filing cabinets and resume sorting a mess of punched time cards from the kitchen and housekeeping staffs that need to be organized and filed.

I make two stacks, my brain checking out as I make the piles based on which machine was punched.

Then something Jessie says draws my attention to their conversation.

“The fraternization clause is there to make sure there is no disruption to work tasks.”

Suze clucks her tongue. “I’d say banging three different girls in laundry and room service is a disruption.”

Jessie sighs. “I’m sure they were on break, not that we have a solid timeline, but the fact that Cristal and Zara got in a physical altercation over it is enough.”

Emily frowns. “But are we going to bring in Cristal and Zara over what Maverick is doing? He’s clearly baiting them.”

Suze speaks up. “I agree. He’s the one who’s the problem.”

Jessie fiddles with her hair. “He didn’t make Zara punch Cristal.”
