“It was very nice to meet you both and Roan, same. Don’t break my sister’s heart or I’ll kill you.”

Pearl speaks up as Kat steps in front of the door like she's blocking me from leaving, “Wait, Nolia. Didn’t you say you were going to stay another night with Rome?”

“You’re sleeping with Rome?” My sister’s eyes widen, and I am speechless for a heartbeat. Stunned, utterly stunned, into silence.

“Rome said she was.” I look between Pearl and my sister. “This afternoon when I called him.”

“He…he what?!” Shock has quickly morphed into something dark and deadly.

“Oh well, I just assumed…you know…things happened quickly and…”

“No, I am not sleeping with Rome. He…he told me I could stay with him…”

“Oh, I’m sorry, Nolia. I thought he said you all were sharing a bed together when I called him. It was why he was talking really low and didn’t want to ‘wake you’ when I called.”

“He…no. I…”

“Hmm, I wonder why he told Mom he was seeing someone when she called. He even called you by name, according to Mom.”

A sense of hurt rises in my throat and almost chokes me with its enormity. How could he make them think…? My sister is looking at me like she wants answers and all I can do is shake my head no.

I’m going to kill him!

“Where is his office?”

The three women take a moment to look between them before Pearl tells me the address and Kat helps give me directions. When I leave the hospital, I am beyond mad. I am a whole new level of angry that I don’t think I’ve ever been before. I am going to kill that lying, sorry sack of…

Chapter Eleven

Roman

“Sir, there’s a woman here to see you.”

“A woman?” My sister would have called if she were coming to see me and Roberts, the head of building security, knows her. He just lets her up without a call.

“A Miss.,” I can hear mumbling, “Um, a Nolia woman, sir.”

“Show her up, Roberts. Use my personal elevator.”

I turn my chair around, so I am facing away from the door giving myself another couple of seconds to work out the play I am going with.

When I hear the door open and close swiftly, I slowly turn to find a pissed-off Nolia standing in the middle of my office.

“Asshole.”

“Hello to you too.”

“Don’t you sit there like you didn’t do anything? Don’t try to pretend you’re innocent, you ass!”

“You keep mentioning me in the same context as asses and I’m going to start thinking you’ve been thinking about mine all day.”

I have to duck a flying knickknack that was on the table by the door.

“You…you told your sister…”

I’m up out of my chair when the next projectile goes flying by. “What are you talking about? Or have you just lost your mind…AGAIN?”

It’s the ‘again’ that gets her. She rushes for me, and I barely grab her wrists before she has a chance to scratch my eyeballs out. She tries to pull away from me, but I have a good grip on her. She hip-checks me before making an attempt to give me a knee in a very uncomfortable place. She might be wearing clothes today, but I am taken back to the first time. And so is my dick.
