Page 8 of Sweet Temptation

My eye narrow into slits as I stare at the blue-haired bitch. She didn’t even know her, yet she has the audacity to open her mouth? Fuck no.

My hands slam into the table as I stand to my feet and tower over her. "That's the second person who has said her fucking name," I growl, my face inches from Lexi's. Lexi stares at me with wide eyes. Sam flinches from the corner of my eye, but I don't pay it much attention. My eyes stay directly on Lexi as a snarl pulls at the corner of my lips.

"You're a girl so I can't do anything, but you say one more word, I'll have someone here kick your ass," I snarl in her face. She's been grating on my nerves for the last year, and I need her to catch the message.

Lexi flinches away from me, her lip trembling. "Anastasia?" she whimpers.

I smile like the asshole she knows I am before stepping closer till we're almost touching. "Don't forget, she owned this school and still does as a professor's assistant." Damien smirks at Lexi.

Lexi spins around, only to come face to face with my bossy, annoying older sister, Anastasia Saint. "Ana…" Lexi whispers under her breath.

I take a seat next to Ace and watch the show.

"Are you bugging these boys?" she growls at Lexi. Just as Lexi tries to take a step around Ana, she grabs her arm.

"You stay away from Damon, or I'll chew your pretty little fingers off," Ana whispers loud enough for only my group of friends to hear. Lexi nods slowly. "That goes for Damien, too." Ana smiles sweetly at Lexi.

Damien grins and leans closer to the girls. "If she goes near Soren, she'll cause a war." All she does is nod before speeding back to her best friend Emma and slams her books down on the table.

Ana looks at the four of us before eying Sam. "You got a little bruise, sweetie." She smiles, pressing her blood-red lips on his eye. I roll my eyes while Damien huffs. Sam ignores her and finishes his Dr. Pepper.

"Bye, Ana," I reply dryly.

She turns to me with a glare. "Do not speak to me like a dog after I just got rid of your pesky flea."

Damien smiles at me before looking at Ana. "That's what you are, though, so can you exit the scene and go sit with the other assistants and professors in their lunchroom."

Ana glares at the four of us before she walks away, leaving us to sit by ourselves. I sigh and take a sip from the bottle of Coke. "When's try-outs?" I hear a deep voice ask.

I look up and catch a glimpse of blonde hair before my eyes meet Soren. I laugh, covering my mouth. "Eight," Ace replies, picking up his tray of food and throwing out the scraps as he walks toward the parking lot.

Soren doesn't even care about try-outs, so why is he bother asking? I tilt my head as I glance his way.

Damien looks up at our brother and grins. "Can't sit with hockey players till you're a part of the group, little brother." Soren glares at Damien before heading back in the general direction of his friends. Again, he doesn't care, so why bother asking?

I zone out the rest of lunch, remembering my last week with Emily, the only girl in this world who could make my heart beat. And that's when an idea hits me.

"Damon, let's go." Damien pokes my shoulder. I look up and watch the field become a zoo as the crowds exit for their next classes or home.

My eyes search for Hanna before I find her walking next to the Maggie lookalike, Bailey nowhere in sight. I take my window of opportunity, and with a grin, I get up from the table and head toward the short brunette and stop inches from her before I speak.

"Hanna." I grin. Scarlet turns and looks at me with narrowed eyes before Hanna follows her lead and turns to face me. "Got any idea how creative writing works?" I ask her. I failed the entire class last year, so this is my best bet to worm my way in.

Even though I know I don't need tutoring, it's a way to keep her close. Hanna picks at her nails before she cranes her neck to look up at me. "I always get As in writing classes, so…" She stares at me like I'm ruining her life. Not yet Cinderella, but I will.

I smile at my brilliant mind. "I'm bound to fail. Any chance you'll help me pass? Tutor me?" I ask her softly. My lips pull in a grin as I watch her. She's sceptical of me, and she should be. I'm more dangerous than a stalker.

Hanna watches me, confused, before she responds, "I-I don't think that's a good idea."

I sigh softly before heading toward the double doors that lead outside. In three… two… one… I hear her voice, high-pitched, as her heels click loudly.

"Damon, wait," she calls as she rushes after me. "I'll tutor you, but that's only if it's for one semester, and if you promise not to mention what Lexi saw in the bathroom."

The bathroom… Right, when she cut into her skin.

I smile at her and nod. "Don't worry about it, we all have shitty days." Now she's mine. I can keep her close for a semester at the most. But she's still mine.

"How about tomorrow at two?" she asks, shuffling her feet anxiously.
