I look back up at the second floor and don’t see Marco. I get the ref’s hand off me and leave the cage, not even going to my dressing room and making my way upstairs to Marco’s office. I don’t knock when I’m in front of his door, instead I push it open and see Marco sitting in his chair with a familiar head of brunette hair across from him.

“We had a deal,” I say before grabbing Jaclyn’s arm and pulling her out of the chair. “Come on. We’re leaving.”

“What’s going on?” Jaclyn asks me, looking at me with uncertainty in her eyes.

“Don’t worry about it, we’re leaving.”

“See the deal we had, Hayden, protected her from me. Not you,” Marco says, making me look away from Jaclyn and glare at him. “You’re still mine Hayden. Don’t think that just because you won this fight that it’s all over.” My jaw clenches and I move Jaclyn behind me so he doesn’t have his eyes on her. “I’ll be in touch, Hayden.”

I don’t answer him as I leave the room, slamming the door behind me with his lingering words still in my head.

Fifty

Hayden

I stare at Jaclyn’s bareback while watching her chest rise and fall with every slow breath she takes.

Ever since the fight I just have been looking at her differently. Something about her just makes me smile. I can’t wipe this stupid grin off my face whenever I see her and whenever she blushes I want to take a picture of her and bring it everywhere I go.

Loving her is like having all of my armor on from fucking war and when I see her I can take it off and I feel relief.

Like when I’m punching someone in a fight, waiting for that goddamn bell to ring, and when it finally rings and the fight’s over I feel fucking powerful.

Loving her is better than winning any kind of fight where I can earn millions of dollars.

I lean closer to her and press my lips to her shoulder. She mumbles something but I can’t catch what she’s trying to say.

“What?” I say against her bare shoulder.

“What time is it?”

I look at the view in front of us. The sun is rising slowly, the blue and pink mixing together creating a beautiful view.

We are at the top of the abandoned building. I took her here last night because I wanted to be alone with her but Natalia and Chris were at the house. I brought a shit ton of blankets and sheets for us to lay on because Jaclyn said she doesn’t want any bugs crawling up her ass, her words not mine. Plus after the fight last night I need to tell Jaclyn everything.

I want her to know how I feel about her and that every single day she’s on my mind.

Nothing else.

“It’s around six in the morning.”

Jaclyn turns around and I place my hand on her hip, pulling her closer. My cock hardening between us and if Jaclyn feels it she doesn’t mention anything. She keeps her eyes on me, cheeks turning a shade darker.

“Are you okay? Why are you awake?”

I shake my head lightly, as if telling her not to worry about it. “I just wanted to look at you.”

Jaclyn smiles and leans closer to me but doesn’t say anything. When it comes to Jaclyn and expressing how she feels, she is very shy about it.

She sometimes compliments me for certain things and when she does, it feels like my heart stops for a second. But for sex, she just lets me figure out if she wants it or not. Or kissing, she rarely ever kisses me first.

It’s always me making the first move and for some reason it makes me feel like she trusts me. I like knowing that Jaclyn trusts me with her feelings and when to move forward with her.

“Stop looking at me like that?” she murmurs and hides her face in my chest.

“Like what?” I ask, whispering in her ear softly.

I grab a hold of her neck and make her look back up at me. I can’t help but smile softly at her because she is just too fucking beautiful to not look at or not feel something.
