“Marley and Lennon asked if they could get tickets for the show tonight,” I say to her.
“Of course. I’ll text Luciana and ask if she can have them waiting at the door. My mom was saying she wants to go to the show tomorrow night.” Quinn laughs.
I laugh too. “What’s your dad going to do if she does?”
“I have no idea. I think he plans to hang out with Enea and Giacomo. Maybe your dad would like to join them? And your mom can come to the show with us. You know you don’t have to go to the club with me. I know you don’t like the all-male nights.”
“After all this is done, I might not come down as much. But right now I feel like I need to be with you at all times.”
Quinn smiles at me. “Thank you. I love that you want to be with me.”
I scoop her up in my arms and kiss her.
“I love you, and if I could? I would spend every waking moment with you. I know that probably sounds stalkerish.”
“It doesn’t, in fact I feel the exact same way. I used to think that Luciana and Rónán being like this was a little odd. But now that I have you? I totally get it.”
I watch Quinn text Luciana.
“She said their tickets will be at the door. VIP. They just need to show their ID.”
“Awesome. Please thank her for me.”
Chapter Thirteen
Quinlan
The show went as it usually does. I did help one of the dancers with a song, I’m not sure Jagger likes when I do that. But he understands and tries to keep smiling.
After the show, it’s an open bar and the dancers mingle with the audience. This part of the show lasts about two to three hours. And it’s usually a good time. The people that come to the shows are generally nice. But sometimes there’s drama.
“I’m going to the bathroom,” I say to Jagger and Brennan.
It’s still weird to have to tell them where I’m going. Usually if Jagger is with me, Brennan is just around for general security. But because Jagger’s sisters are here, Brennan is guarding me tonight, so that Jagger can keep an eye on his sisters.
As I step out of the stall, I see two women at the sink. I stand back to wait for one of them to finish up and then I walk over to wash my hands.
“Are you Quinn?” one of them asks me.
“Do I know you?”
“No, but we know you. And if you want to protect Jagger, you’ll come with us without a fight.”
I look at both of them, trying to see if I can get past them. I might be able to if it was just one. But with two of them, I don’t know.
“Who are you? And why should I go with you?”
“Your grandfather wants to have a word with you.”
“My grandfather lives in Oregon and he knows how to reach me.”
“Oh, you’re a funny one. You don’t want to cross Vincent Burrows. Just because you’re his granddaughter, doesn’t mean he’s going to be kind to you.”
“I don’t know a Vincent Burrows. And he’s definitely not my grandfather.”
“Don’t be stupid. You can come with us now or we can knock you the fuck out. Your choice.”
I start laughing. “You really think you can drag me out of this bathroom with no one noticing? Who’s stupid now?”
