Once on the interstate heading home, Neha is looking a bit angry about Nick being at her house. Which I would think that would make her happy since she said she hadn’t heard from him, and he is here surprising her. He’s taking a page out of Anthony’s book of him answering my text in person.
Finally, it is me who breaks the ice. “So, where should we go tonight? Grady wanted all of us to go out and have some drinks.”
Neha makes a “HMM” sound. “Let’s go to that new bar called The Peak. I’ve heard it’s super nice and rumor has it, they clean the women’s restrooms every 30 minutes. You can’t beat that. I bet we can get up in the VIP section with my magazine pull!”
I look over at Neha with a bit of skepticism that she has that kind of pull. “Do you really think you could? Then we can all just Uber down there or someone stay sober to be our DD. I doubt Heath will want to come after last time.”
Both of us just start cracking up at the memory of the last bar outing.
“It’s already done I know the manager of the bar! You didn’t know that, did you?!”
“I sure didn’t know that, but it’s awesome either way.” Driving a bit more, I start thinking about what to wear. This is a new bar, but it is on the nicer side as far as bars are concerned.
Neha makes a little giggle sound. “I am going to make Nick work hard for it; he thinks he can go off and not call me! He’s going to learn real quickly.”
Typical Neha, making her man really work for it. “Have you guys said you are exclusive? Can you both see other people?” I ask.
I am genuinely curious about what type of relationship those two have. “No, we haven’t talked about being exclusive, but I would want to be if he did.”
Changing the subject back to the bar, I say, “So, what should we wear? You do realize we are going there with eight dudes who ride BMX and one skateboarder. They won’t dress up; if anything, they will all say they have on their nicest t-shirt!”
This makes Neha choke on her drink of water she just took. “Oh my gosh, I totally can see them all saying that!” Neha then gets a kind of confused look on her face. “Are Noah and Mateo even of age to go out and drink?”
I shake my head at her. “No, they are both 17, so I feel bad about going out without them.”
“That’s not a problem. I will text my friend who is the manager and he will probably just have them get the giant X’s on each hand.” That’s a relief–we don’t have to leave them behind. I would feel bad about that.
“So, back to what to wear. I think you should wear those cute skinny jeans you have and just like a gray tank top. Anthony will go crazy seeing you in those jeans. The way they hug your hips, thighs, and that ass.” Anthony has always told me he loves my curves, and those jeans would show them off. “You don’t think I don’t notice him looking at your ass any chance he gets, “she adds.
Okay, thinking my outfit is picked out, I now wonder what shoes. Neha interrupts my train of thought. “You should wear your FMPs tonight too!”
I give her a very confused look, “What are FMPs?”
I get an eye roll and a sigh. “Fuck me pumps, Ashlynn!” Thinking to myself, well that’s something new, I have never heard them referred to as that, but I like it. “Not that you have to ask Anthony for that either!”
“So, what will you wear for Nick to grovel for you?” I ask Neha, interested in her response.
“My nice little black dress that hugs my body. If he thinks I am going to let him touch me, he has another thing coming.”
It’s guaranteed she will be letting Nick do more than touch her by the end of night or at some point in the bar. She is crazy for him but tries to hide it and play hard to get. Just as Neha stops talking, Nick is calling her. She puts her phone on speaker and acts annoyed. “Hi Nick, we are driving home right now.”
“Okay, it’s no rush; I know I didn’t let you know I was back in town. Are you with Ashlynn?”
Dramatically rolling her eyes, but with a huge smile on her face, she says, “Of course I am with Ashlynn, along with the whole Overbear team!”
“Oh awesome, Anthony and the team are coming up, too! I came back at the perfect time.”
“So, it would seem like it. Well, we are almost there, so see you soon.”
Letting out a soft laugh, Nick tells Neha, “I’ll just meet you at Ashlynn’s house. I can’t wait to see you! I’ve missed you.”
“Okay, byeee!” Neha is ruthless, but I know Nick saying that to her made her melt on the inside.
